Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I signed up with Stanley Warranty by phone on 4/19/13 at $469.99/year.  I never had to put in a claim until 4/16/14, when my water heater went on the fritz.  Mind you, the heater was still under warranty (supposedly), since my policy was still in effect because a full year had not passed.  Stanley didn't even bother to create a request ticket for my claim until afterthey'd deducted the $469.99 automatic renewal fee.

Stanley finally sent a plumber to inspect my water heater on 4/23/14, and he determined that it needed replacement.  He also informed me that either he or Stanley would contact me the next day regarding the next course of action.  I receive no correspondence from either, so I e-mailed both that afternoon before the close of business.  No response from either.

I finally reached the plumber on 4/25/14, who told me that he had submitted the required paperwork and was awaiting further instruction from Stanley.  I called Stanley again, to no avail.

I called Stanley, again, and finally spoke to Vicki at 11:38am on 4/28/14, who seemed to be unaware of my claim although I gave her the ref. no.  I asked her what the hold-up was regarding my claim and she told me they had to send a plumber out to take a look at my heater.  I told her that the plumber had made his inspection/diagnosis five days prior, and she then told me he hadn't submitted his paperwork.  She then told me she would look into my claim and call me back.

I wound up calling back at 5:19pm, and guess who answered my call?  Yes, Vicki.  She recalled our previous conversation, and all of a sudden discovered that the plumber had submitted his paperwork on the 25th.  After repeatedly asking about the status of my claim, Vicki disconnected the call.

I immediately called back at 5:24pm, and reached Trevor, who gave me the runaround.  He eventually patched me to some other representative whose name I didn't catch, and she left me on hold so long that my call was automatically dropped.  They sent me an e-mail at 5:45pm stating that they reviewed my service request and set up an appointment on 4/23/14 for a technician to come out and diagnose my water heater.  I had already told these crooks that the man had come to my home on that date and made his diagnosis that the water heater needed replacement!

Obviously, my phone number has been flagged because they no longer bother to answer anymore.  And, they won't return calls, even after asking policyholders to leave their name/number, etc.  I have e-mailed the claims department, as well as the support department, without success.  I spoke with the plumber on 4/30/14, who told me that Stanley is dodging him, too - that this is his first time working with them.

It is now 5/1/14, and I left yet another message with Stanley that I think they are a fraudulent outfit and I am taking legal action against them.  Still waiting for a response, three hours later.
