Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I want to share my experience with Target store #2520 , located in Lewisville at Main (Highway 423/Josey Lane) and 121, as I  tried to purchase giftcards and the store refused to sell me gift cards. On 11/07/13, I attempted to buy 500 $10 Google gift cards for my work and the transaction was refused and the store only wanted to sell me 4 units.

I got to the register and the cashier summoned Sarah over to ask about the quantity of cards I was attempting to purchase. Sarah advised me that I could only purchase 4 cards. She gave me a lame excuse of “Target being able to limit quantities” and showed me the ad where it supposedly stated this. I informed Sarah the cards are not in the ad. I also advised Sarah that Target has a $5,000 daily limit regarding the purchase of gift cards and I just purchased $4,995 worth of iTunes cards the other day from the same store and had the receipt with me to prove it. Sarah did not budge and again reinstated the alleged store policy. I asked to speak with the store manager and of course he/she was not in the store at the time. Sarah summoned James, ETL – Logistics, to the front lane. James came to the front lanes and covered Sarah’s back and reiterated what Sarah told me.

I remembered that the store manager was Marvin and asked to speak to him. I was informed Marvin is no longer at the store. In complete disbelief, I called the 1-800 customer help line and spoke with a guest relations person who took about 30 minutes of my time to research and investigate my complaint. My complaint was finally escalated to a supervisor, who came on the phone and asked to speak with the store employee.  James got on the phone and spoke with the guest relations supervisor and advised the supervisor that it was “their store policy” to limit the quantity to 4 units.

uest relations got back on the phone with me and advised me they had to back up the store on this decision, even though their limit is $5,000 per day. I left the store in complete disbelief and could not understand why the store did not want a $5,000 sale and went across the street to Walmart and purchased the cards with no problem. The Walmart store manager even came up and approved the transaction and asked me if I needed anymore cards in the future. He further advised me to let him know and he would be glad to special order the cards for me and make sure the store has the stock I need.

This was quite the opposite of my experience with Target, who did not want the sale or value my business. I also purchased 33 $25 Walmart giftcards to give to the office employees for Thanksgiving to help with their Thanksgiving dinners. Another revenue source Target lost out to because of their crippled ways and our company employees will hopefully do their Thanksgiving shopping at Walmart and support Walmart since Target only wants to sell me 4 of any type of giftcard.

The bottom line is Target does not want or care about your business, especially if you speak up and complain. The store can tell you whatever BS they want to tell you and guest relations will back them up even if means the store employee(s) are wrong or they loose a sale. My advice, take your business to Walmart as they want it and will do what it takes to make you a happy customer, just the opposite of Target, who does not care about you as a customer or value your business. I bet the Target shareholders will be upset if they read this post as I am posting this complaint to many social media outlets and am going to get the word out about Target’s practices.

I am escalating this complaint to Gregg Steinhafel, Target CEO, and his personal assistant Denise May. I will post an update to this post if I hear anything back from either of them.

 Dear "and the stupidity continues",

Why don't you look at yourself as the stupid one. You seem like a rather bitter Target employee; Am I correct?

The fact of the matter is that I have bought gift cards in bulk from this store before and Marvin, who was the store manager, even encouraged me to do so but now we have a lower totem pole employee, who is making her own rules, and "NOT CORPORATE" because she has a personal problem with me purchasing the gift cards. Don't assume things because you break assume down and it spells out " a*s u me". The store has not had a chargeback on my AMEX card and a certain employee, who used to be an asset protection person, was even with me during the transaction at this store on 11-5-13 when I made the purchase of iTunes cards totaling $4,995. He showed me a Target store memo where the gift card purchase amount was reduced from $10,000 to $5,000 per day back on October 31, 2013 so at least he has credilbilty as opposed to some of the other "manager level employees at this store". I hope you love your job at Target and enjoying working for a company that BS's their cusotmers and feeds them full of lies. Last thing, prove how I am going to defraud Target with the gift card purchases and at least have some credibility in your post because all you are doing is ranting and trying to protect Target.

Yet again the self entitled nature of the American Conscammer comes into VERY sharp focus. Its not about YOU princess, its about Target. Im sure had you purchased smaller amounts this wouldnt be a issue. But since you wanted to purchase that many cards, Target has to make sure youre not going to use them to defraud them. But YOU dont think if there is a underlaying issue do you? No..YOU only concern yourself with the fact that they wouldnt sell you something. Its about FRAUD!!!!!

Yes Walmart is going to sell you as many cards as they can, they dont have the same issues with GIFTCARD FRAUD as companies like Target. But youre MAD!!! And you didnt get your way!!!! SO your going to escalate or atleast attempt to, to the CEO even after Target Corporate which was on the phone told you they have to back the store. YOU just didnt like the answer.

Your apathy truly sickens me. YOU are yet another example of why retail really sucks to be in. You do realize that the STORE had no say in how many gift cards they can sell? No...of course not. YOURE just MAD!!! That would be a direrctive that would be handed down FROM corporate headquarters. But you dont care about that, YOURE MAD!!!

You are the worst type of consumer that ANY retail enviroment has to deal with. YOU WANT YOUR WAY NO MATTER WHAT!! Now I suggest that maybe you take some time and think about this. How would you feel if someone came into your work DEMANDING that you do something that you cannot without losing your job? Im betting youre the type to say something really stupid like "Oh that wouldnt happen", but it does. And you have proved it.

Might I also point out to you that you are naming ppl on the web? These are normal just hard working people who get paid pennies to deal with dollar problems. They are not given the authority or the power to superceed the corporate directives. Not even the manager, but you dont care, YOURE MAD!!

YOU need to reevaluate YOUR attitude and actions. You obviously get paid much better then these employees and your attitude and actions show that you think anyone who doesnt make as much as you are your personal slaves to boss around and force your demands on. Well I got news for you, you get what you give in this life. One day in the not to distant future YOU will have to deal with a jacka** twit much like yourself who thinks themselves better then everyone else and forces thier demands on you. And when YOU cannot do what they ask because it will cost you your job, the universe in its grand glory will cause you to remember this instance. Remember it well, because then YOU will have to deal with it. And wouldnt it be great if they decided to post a BS post against your company NAMING you!!!!

YOU should have accepted the fact that the cashier at Target COULDNT do as you asked and moved on. But NOOOOOOOOO stupidity shall reign!!! Instead you show yourself to be nothing more then an Elietist snob with no more concern for your fellow man then you would have for dog poo in your way. CONGRATZ!!!

I really hope one day you get to truly see yourself for what you are. I could go into GREAT depth on your self entitlment and selfishness. I could rant for hours over your treatment of those people who get paid less to deal with even bigger a**es such as yourself. But what would be the point. Until YOU realize how badly YOU handled the situation, you will always play the victim. It will ALWAYS be someone elses issue instead of your own. Accountability and responsability are two words you really need to learn the definition of.
