Tax Defense Network RIPPED ME OFF AT A DESPERATE TIME.... Jacksonville Florida
In January, 2013 my wages were garnished due to my not filing my taxes for several years. In desparation, wanting to get the garnishment lifted as quickly as possible, I hired Tax Defense Network to "get me straighten out". They really did a number on me. They told me they fee would be $3950.00. By paying the fee, there were going to get the garnishment lifted, file my back taxes and get me set up on payment installment with IRS. I did not have 3900 just sitting in my account, so I borrowed the funds from my Grandmother, BORROWED.... Due to my check being garnished, I was only able to pay them $750.00 initally, they wanted me to pay them $400.00 a month for 8 months, lol...
Now, TDN did have the garnishment stopped. They even filed my back taxes (something I could have done since they only plugged in numbers.. never asked me for any receipts, etc...). They got me set up on a payment installment with IRS ($595.00 a month) and filed my 2013 taxes...
Sounds good right.... NOPE.... These guys do not do any negotiating on your behalf. They do the bare minimum and tax the maximum payments and all of your money to complete this. As I mentioned, my new installment plan with IRS was $595.00 per month AND when my 2013 taxes where completed, if any taxes where due, I had to pay them at that time. NO installment would be accepted. I ended up oweing $3200.00 once TDN did my taxes.
Now on top of the $16,000.00 that was due to IRS, I had to pay anther $3200.00 for 2013 taxes.
Several calls a day for 2 months, I tried contacting these guys. The phone would ring, ring, ring.... If someone did pick the phone up, i was transferred to a new person. I wanted to speak with the 4 different people that I worked with... None of them were around.
Long story short, my tax situation is even worst now... I am paying what I can pay, however as of January 2015... I can not register my tags because of my tax situation.
I know I will eventually have this worked out... But who do you turn to. It is sad when you cannot trust anyone. I am now trying to find an attorney to get my money back...
