Complaint Review: TBR Ministry by Tonia Richardson - Houston Texas

I was part of 4 of Tonia's plays. I was around and was one of the few that she confinded in. She is a private person and she does not mingle with many people. I have known her for 3 years now. Every production I was a part of she paid me. I must admit that a couple of plays we had a delay on payment. We were told that we would be paid by the end of the week. We understood because she didnt really sell many tickets. We received our pay when she said we would. I think when you are dealing with someone that is not big or well known that you may have a delay in payment. Now, if she would have never paid me or never told me I would be mad too, but it never happened to us. I was part of the tour. The states she named were the states we performed in. We were paid for all shows. I am a witness that whoever posted this is not being honest. If it was true, then I wouldnt take my time to defend her. Tonia doesn't deserve this. I never told her, but I want her to know that I am thankful for supporting and donating to things that I had going on.

Girl that name does not suite you. I like your real name ASHLEY PERKINS better. And to the company, directors, that hire this talented young lady would also get the priveledge to have your name slandered with lies but thank you! Look at that.... I always advertise and promote other people (that I pay) and finally I get a page all about me, Regardless if it's true or not. I'm a little flattered. Thank you ASHLEY!!!

This is funny to me. I needed to read this. Thank you!! Just a little bit about me since things have been reported incorrectly. I have not moved from city to city and run off with money to not pay the cast. This organization started off as a non - profit. I DO NOT receive any type of payment for my plays. I invest not just in the productions but also in promoting the cast more than I promote myself. 

I finance my own productions 100%. I do not have an elaborate team nor am I trying to be Tyler Perry. I do not have sponsors or investors. I fund from donations and from my own pocket. So many facts on this are incorrect. The cities that I have traveled was on a tour. I still lived in the same city while we toured. What I find to be strange is that if people had issues with me paying them, then why did they continue with the tour and continue to sign contracts with other productions after??? I bust my butt to make sure all my castmembers are paid for their work. You may not get it on the day of the production, which is why the contract states.... $__ for the performance on such and such date. Numbers do not always make an event successful. it's the people you touch. It's the message that is brought to light. Each production someone comes to me and tell me how they were helped. That is why I do this. I apologize that you didnt get what you wanted from this. I'm sorry that you didnt get the Tyler Perry or Holloywood exposure. I'm sorry that things werent up to your standards. Yes! I get frustrated when ticket sales arent up to par, because that tells me that I have to cover everything out of my pocket. 

Let's make this clear..... I dont do this for money. I do not take from this organization. I have PAID for advertisement with YOUR pic, YOUR name, YOUR voice, not to promote myself but to promote YOU. I was hurt by reading this but I thank God that it happened. Radio interviews I promoted YOU!! Press release I promoted YOU. 

Rehearsals...... I had a limited amount of reheasals and informed everyone upfront, but because cast was ALWAYS late I had to rearrange everything. Costume rehearsal was cancelled because the cast was LATE and I had to use that time to makeup for people being late and not knowing their lines. And because you werent around and did not and do not know what was being done, the techs that staffed at the venue along with my prodcution staff rehearsed the day before and the morning of. But because it wasnt done like what you use to then it wasnt done correctly. Please ask the guest that was at the play about the mics. Yes there were moments that mics blinked out and that is because certain ones, decided to have the mics on their lips. Which was told repeatedly not to. When you finance your own plays, then we can talk.

And about me fleeing everytime I do a play? How did I flee when I used some of the same people in my plays? That doesnt add up, but hey I am glad someone is speaking about my plays when they don't really know themselves. But what I did like is you contacting my previous cast members. I know it was Keenon or Andre; the two  fired for being messy and lieing behind my back. If you want to believe them, then go right ahead but I am sure they didnt tell you about me paying for their medicine, their bills, sitting with them in the hopsital when no one was there. Paying for suits because I wanted him to not feel left out at our annual banquet. Paying for hotel rooms that had nothing to do with me. I did it because I believed in their vision. I believe in being selfless and sacrificing because my blessing is right around it. Just to let you know, I moved to Houston for a job promotion and advancement. I let my work speak for itself. I'm still trying to see how do I flee??? when I lived in arkansas at the same address for almost 10 years?? That part I dont quite get, which the records in Arkansas shows that and the fact that the organization is in good standing. But hey, I guess you can believe someone that is upset that they had to wait to be paid. My thing is, as long as you get paid and I live up to my word is what matters to me. But I will say this..... you have to be careful of what you do because you can hinder your own blessing trying to destroy someone else. 

With that being said, this should be a lesson to all. Everything that glitters not gold. everyone that acts happy and humbled isnt always that. Everyone that utters the name of Jesus is not his child and you cant always recognize crazy because they mask it well. Thank you to all that has read the bogus, hurtful, lies. When I first read this, I wanted to quit. I felt like what is the point?? everyone walks away with something but me. I never get a pay check, there is no fame, there has been nothing. Then a few people I forwarded this site to said something.... You make a difference in lives. And that is my mission and always have been. So, if you want to spread lies about me because of money, then so be it. But please do your homework first.
