On March 31, 2004, I entered The Bridal Salon at Macy's in Cherry Hill, NJ. With help of the saleswoman Janet, I found the dress I had wanted. The 12 were a little big and the size 14 was too large.

Back at the counter, Janet pulled out the sizing chart for the bridal gowns by Demetrios.I wanted to order the size 12 but Janet said absolutely not, that it would not be in my best interest and told me to order the size 14. I am not seamstress and I do not sell dresses for a living so I believed her. I was told that my dress would probably not need alterations, but if I did, side seams would cost between $35-65, and if ANY alterations were completed at the store, pressing was included free of charge.

My mother and I showed up for my appointment 45 minutes early on August 19, 2004. The young blonde at the desk told me I had to leave and to come back because the seamstress was busy and I could hang around the store. The tone in her voice and her overall attitude was appalling.

While Jean, the seamstress, was pinning this gown that is entirely too large for me, I looked down her hands covered in her own blood. I take a look down at my gown and there is BLOOD smeared on my brand new $1220.00 dress. She tells me that it is OK and that she will get it out later.

After all the work was pinned she got the gown off of me, and wrote up the work slip and quoted the side seams to be $125.I had the alterations sheet with me, and this differed significantly. My mother and I overheard the receptionists and Janet the sales clerk badmouthing customers. They used profanity calling one customer a f***ing B***h, and she was lucky that they didn't call security.

Around 11:30am on Saturday August 21, 2004, I called and spoke to the store manager Robin Portnoy. She offered no apology, said that I didn't know what it was like to work with brides day in and out, thusly condoning the badmouthing by the staff; that I was "lucky" the blood came out of my dress and that it happens all the time(?), and she would be happy to pull the pins out of the dress and I could pick it up at any time and take it elsewhere .

I was horrified!! I have since contacted the BBB, the regional manager of the bridal Salon at Macy's - Judy Rosuteck, Demetrios Bridal corporate - Maria, the Macy's department store manager - Tracy Howers, in which the Bridal Salon at Macy's resides(contracted out by Demetrios) and am looking to contact the owner, a Mr. Alex Cutrone.

Just an inside look, I did Bridal, Most Floor and Store managers care less about Bridal. The dir of bridal is in NYC her name is Lila, I would give her a call. Also Bridal staff get reviews based on numbers, Let everyone know what happen. Don't let it end with the Regional Manager, The store manager has little to say about Bridal it is kinda like it's own shop, Go Over her/his head.

Ladies don't listen to industry executives-they are not always lawful and honest

#3Consumer Suggestion

Tue, September 21, 2004

So Far no retail executive nationwide has volunteered to help defrauded bridal dress consumers who keep you in business. This tells me a lot! Does anyone know which corporate attorney represents "Harry, Margaret & Ira Kaufman of Kaufman's Wedding World who defrauded (shutting down retail shops leaving distressed victims) many ladies in 4 states out of their hard earned monies. In the few day before brides expensive wedding, Harry caused many brides to "CRY while enduring "UN"-necessary stress on what is suppose to be the "Happiest day of their Lives". Which "Law School" educates "Thug" Attorneys like Harry, Strent, Sorokin & Harry's (?) supporting corporate attorneys. I was wondering which "highly" paid corporate attorney is profiting (through consumers/sweet innocent brides' losses) and representing the Kaufman's in a second bankruptcy involving the same old repetitive crime of bridal dress fraud. Why do our tax dollars support repetitive crimes of bridal dress fraud by not addressing the "Nationwide" damages/injuries/consumers losses instead of each year handling one crime (Kaufman/Hazzard), after another crime (Kaufman/Hazzard), after another crime (Kaufman), etc. Thirty years and the "highly educated" corporate executives/attorneys say they can't stop it? Why? Profits for greedy executives, is that why? My investigation of bridal dresses nationwide criminal activity has brought me to the conclusion that "Corporate Attorneys" (like Kaufman's attorney (?), Vera Wang's corporate attorney (Strent) and Suky Rosan Gown's (stay away) corporate attorney (Sorokin) who aid and abet the repetitive crime with their "Lack" of reviewing "all" the evidence. Does anyone know if the PA State Attorney (Mr. Mendelsohn/Pappert) arrested the "Kaufmans" (Ira, Harry & Margaret) for their repetitive crimes of fraud where many complaints allege criminal activity were filed in 2002, 2003 and 2004 against Harry's brutal "Dictator" ship. Are there any other ladies who will join my crusade to have the criminals arrested for their "repetitive" crimes of fraud? There is very little help for us past victims but we past victims can be most powerful by filing written honest complaints about the illegal deception to local state attorneys (via the internet), U.S. Justice Dept., President Bush, etc. Forget about the BBB and Consumers Affairs, evidence tell me that they may be working for corporate executives. Ladies our voices are our most powerful weapons against the "Shady" world of bridal dress retail executives (Manufacturers and Retailers as my investigation shows) so please be sure and file complaints with local state attorney who are "Slowly" responding to your voices. Come on retail and manufacturers executives, no longer can your hid behind corporate attorneys like Martha Stewart tried to do. There is too much "Supporting" evidence on the Internet, TV, Books, Magazines, etc. and our bridal parties and their mothers are too smart to put up with it the illegal deception any longer. So executives will you be "unlike" Martha Stewart and stand up (before wasting precious judicial time) and take care of all the industry problems or Go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass go and please do not collect $200.00 dollars. One other thing ladies: I am working hard to set up a web sit for "all" victims of corporate greed nationwide. It will be set up to "Really" help try and "Prosecute" the criminals (like Harry, Margaret & Ira Kaufman, Chet Hazzard of the Vera Wang Corporation) for their "repetitive" crimes and devastations to hard working "Heartland" consumers. The State Attorneys (Mr. Gamma/NY and Mr. Mendelsohn/PA) and the Federal Trade Commission (Atty. Vecellio) felt it was too much trouble to help the victims (2002, 2003) and that is why Harry Kaufman and his attorney have again "profited" Illegal monies scammed from consumers (just like Enron, Tyco, Leona Helmsley and Martha Stewart) wasting our "hard earned" and "taxpayers" monies to clean up Harry mess via taxpayer dollars. Speak out ladies via written form, we can make change. Does any one know who Harry Kaufman's Mother is? I would like to explain how mother should have worked harder to get Harry some "Help" for his mental being earlier. If she had gotten him help years ago, so many ladies would not have to endure her son's "UN"necessary illegal deception brutalizing many sweet brides (our daughters) nationwide. I too would like Mrs. "Mother" Kaufman to "Spank" Harry and allow all the rest of his lady victims (2002, 2003 & 2004) to "Spank" HARRY with a "BIG" FAT PADDLE THAT WILL COVER HIS ENTIRE "FAT" A**. Maybe his corporate attorney could let ladies spank him/her too just for representing such a "Harry" Thug of a guy. Harry reminds me of the Taliban who brutalized the "general Consumers" who work so hard to "Pay" your "Thug" illegal bills. Are there any ladies who would like spank Harry and send him to Jail. I do! That is one! Ladies no one anywhere is acknowledging all the "Devastating" damages these uncaring retail criminal executives cause all of our weddings and "Entire" society ntionwide through "higher" taxes. Too many consumers have their $20-50,000.00 planned Wedding Event ruined "Directly" due to the "illegal negligence" created by corporate executives like Harry and his attorney, in my opinion? There is also taxpayer monies that are "Wasted" yearly paying State Attorney's and Judges to address the repetitive crimes of many bridal retail executives nationwide including, but not limited to Vera Wang' corporate president (Chet Hazzard) and Harry Kaufman while corporate attorneys (Kaufman & Vera's) profit and supports such unethical criminals who "Brutalize" our sweet innocent young ladies "Expensive" planned wedding. The Judge ought to have Harry, Margaret & Ira pay for each bride to "Recreate" her expensive "ruined harry" wedding due to the "Appalling Greed" of such Thugs in bridal dress shops and manufacturers to, in my experienced opinion. My investigation leads me to believe that "Bridal Dress Manufacturers" are the "Core" of bridal dress fraud with their "Lack" of help in stopping the yearly crime. Also it is manufacturers (like Vera Wang) who send couture "Sample" dresses (to many media, runway shows, retail shops) but then provide cheap "Ordered" dresses for ladies in many communities nationwide. Ladies your complaints (past and present) are more powerful than any corporate attorney representing criminals like Harry Kaufman and Chet Hazzard (of Vera Wang Corporation). So please be sure to file them with the State Attorney of each State and the U.S. Justice Dept. who has the legal power to "STOP" bridal dress criminals in their track. Good day scammed and defrauded consumers and Happy Brides and Hollywood starlets who (sometime) get "free" dresses from industry executives who do not "always" obey the laws that govern the garment industry. Ladies please remember every time a Hollywood starlets get "Free" dresses from Designers (like Vera Wang) it cost you and I in "Higher" cost to consumers. Ladies are also asking all manufacturer executives to stop donating to "Charities" or "free dresses for starlets" so that we consumers can keep more money in our pocket books. That way corporate executives could lower cost (no charitable contributions/no attorney cost/no free dresses for Hollywood starlets who are so rich they don't need free dresses). Consumer (for once)could get many product (including bridal dresses) for a "reasonable" or "market" price. Without being defrauded by harry Thugs like Harry Kaufman and the many of thousands (bridal dress executives) who got warning letter about "Illegal" deceipt from the Federal Trade Commission in the year 2004. Just like so many corporate victims of Enron's, Adelphia Cable, Morgan Stanley, Arthur Andersen, Michael Milken, Leona Helmsley and don't forget about all the devastation Martha Stewart and her harry attorneys (my opinion, of course) caused for hard working taxpayers. Martha (through her highly paid attorney via many fruad profits) debate in a court of law (wasting tax payer dollars) her educated knowledge of stocks she used to "Illegally" defraud her investors. P.S. Please tell K-Mart that we consumers no longer want any products produced by THUGS like Vera Wang, Martha Stewart, Harry and Chet Hazzard (president of Vera Wang) the biggesst thug of all, in my opinion. Good day, any executives want to help?

I bought a Bridal Gown and five bridesmaids dresses at the Macy's Bridal Salon in the Cherry Hill Mall three months ago. My experience with Robin and her staff was very smooth, courteous, and professional. I just can't believe that the staff there would act like that to anyone in that manner. This woman's remarks toward Robin and her staff is very unprofessional and uncalled for! Since my wedding, I have recommended a coworker to go there and her experience was wonderful just as mine was. I'm sorry to hear that yours was not, but if you are going to complain about someone and their staff, please do so in a manner that doesn't attack them in such a slanderous and unprofessional way.

Dear Maureen Sorry to hear about the fiasco with Macy's in Cherry Hill. I got married two years ago and went to the Macy's Bridal Salon in Menlo Park. I know it's a hike from Tuckerton, but I think you'll be satisfied. Me and my bridal party were treated with the utmost courtesy at all times. We had no problems whatsoever. I am in Forked River and it was well worth the trip! Best of Luck!

On 9/9/2004 had second fitting of dress. after speaking with the district manager i thought everything hed been resolved. No! My dres had weird bulges in it b/c it was too big to be fitted to my size. I informed the seamstress I was never coming back there and wanted my dress today! So she told me to come back at 4:15 to pick it up. Ok so I had an hour and a half to kill. I came back at 4:15, only to find that another wedding party was having problems with their dresses. The Bridal Salon at Macy's Cherry Hill, under the management of Robin Portnoy had lost the maid of honors dress. (Robin is a stout woman who was wearing clothes far too small for her, which was representative of the rest of the staff, one of which looked like a Christina Aguilera back-up dancer. It's not the proper attire for a bridal Salon, nor professional.) Robin told the women that she could get another dress and she would see if she could "try to give them a discount". WHAT?! The only carry size 10 and the maid of honor was a size 2! Back to me. I ended up having to wait an additional 45 minutes for my dress, the manager in the meantime was on her cell phone discussing how she hates her job, has no health insurance and wouldn't get health insurance until she and the person on the phone get married. WHAT?! I asked the sales girl for the owner, Alex Cutrone's number and was told she was not authorized to do so. I informed her I'd just call Judy Rosuteck, the district manager the next day for it. Upon this Robin approached me and asked what the problem was. I told her I am getting married in 5 weeks and for the last 6 months of this dress ordeal I am stressed and distressed over the three ring circus that she was running over there. I told her she should be ashamed at the customer "dis"-service that was provided to me as well as to the bridal party before me. She just kept saying "thank you" in a disdainful cocky voice over and over and over again. I told Robin Portnoy that I would tell everyone I know to never shop there and that if I could I'd protest her store. Again told "thank you". I told her losing dresses and blood stained dresses were her legacy and everyone would know what a monkey business she was running. Again "thank you". She asked if there was anything else and I told her: "just one more thing, but some clothes that fit". Today I am calling the district manager, Judy, who has been so helpful and undrestanding in this very stressful time, to inform her of the status of her Cherry Hill store (circus) and it's staff, headed by Robin Portnoy.

The regional manager of The Bridal Salon at Macy's, Cherry Hill, has contacted me and is personally driving down to the store in question. She is reducing my alteration costs and speaking with the manager, Robin about the substandard customer service given to me and probably countless other brides, by her and her staff.
