The Eagle Warranty Corporation ripoff, misleading contractual statements, argumentative and rude, extremely poor customer relations (Brian), Blakely Pennsylvania
We purchased an extended warranty when we bought our used car. We rarely have used it over a four year period, however the wheel bearings on my front wheel went bad. My contract states "Drive Axle Components. Front and rear axle, and all internal lubricated parts. Drive shaft, universal joints, constant joints(including the CV Boot), transfer case all internal lubricated parts wheel drive vehicles...". and when we followed their claims procedure it was denied. Their explaination is "it's not part of the drive axle." They said I should've asked at the time of purchase and acted like I was an idiot for not knowing. Most reasonable non-mechanical people would generally assume the wheel bearing were part of the drive axle, but according to them I should've asked at the time of purchased. I usually look for what's not covered that is stated specifically in the contract, gee wheel bearing weren't mentioned anywhere in the excluded section. Which would lead you to think they were part the 'all internal lubricated parts ' section.
