Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I am a former student of the salter shcool in tewksbury and graduated with honor's this past october. As of right now, I am still unemployed and finding it very difficult to get a job as a Med Assistant. Everytime I apply for a position, I get a response back stating "Newly Graduated MA's Need Not Apply".

The Staff at the school is like a revoling door, In the year I attended the night classes, they must have gone through half of their admin staff more than once along with the director. The staff would also brush off the students whey the student would contront them with issues and/or questions. A few of the teachers there shouldn't even be teaching. One of them seems to be on the beginning stages of alzheimer's as he would always repeat the same things over and over again, I never learned anything in any of his classes except the effects of Benadryl.Let alone the fact that he constantly mis-graded quizzes and exams. Then there is the DOE. she is more concerned about interrupting a class to have a certain teacher walk her out to her car.. But if you have a complaint that is brought to her attention, she will talk in circles. Oh, Let alone the brawls and fights that occured between the immature students,, how sad is that and let's not forget about the girl who drove her car through the bldg.

Then you have the "Externship Coordinator", she tells you during the first mod to send her your resume and what type of medical dept you would hope to work in in order for her to find and externship for you,, ( need i remind you, she request's this infor the first few weeks after school has started ), so, a few months go by, you ask her how the hunt is going, and you never get a response. After emailing her several times, I finally got my externship destination on my last day of attending classes there. About the Externships?? hmmm, well, 98% of the externships are not "Hands On" the facilities the students are sent to do not allow us to do the role of MA, instead we are their slaves and end up doing things like filing, cleaning and taking out the trash,, Is that what i paid 14,000.00 for?? to learn how to file?? I think not.

I had to give up my full time paying job to fulfill my 180 hour extertnship becuase the students were told ( that is after we signed on the dotted line ) that night externships are few to none. I have been uemployed becuase of this since August 1, 2010.

During the time i was attending the salter school, i had requested a short leave due to family issue's,, ahhhh but that would mean that the school would not get paid if i had left.. so that is when the staff "wants" to take the time to talk to you.. basically until their blue in the face giving you othe big bull story, practically begging you not to stop classes.

I have also found out that the school will pass even the ones that don't pass. I will not mention names but i know of one girl who's average was about a 60,, but she somehow graduated with honors??? really??? so here i am busting my butt off, working full time at the time was attending night classes, study every moment i could, and this other person fails but passes??? again, becuase the school will not get accredited if the student does not pass... I would like to look into an attorney about this but will need to come up with the money first.. I encourage anyone who know's anyone to pass this word along.. Do Not Attend The Salter School..

This Salter School sounds like one of the craziest places on the face of the earth! A girl drove her car into a building? A teacher falls asleep in class? They phony-pass kids who aren't qualified? And then a graduate can't get a job, surprise, surprise? What a scam! Is there any agency that licenses this school and that can investigate the place before they do any more damage to any more students' careers?
