I will make this quick and spare everyone the specific details - the purpose of this is to warn any potential customers of Thomas General Contracting or Greg Thomas in and around Chattanooga.
My wife and I hired Mr. Thomas and his company to build us a screened in portch and deck at our home. A few months after completion we noticed significant issues with the strucure and soundness of the deck. In March of 2014 - less than a year after completion - we asked for the city building inspector to come and exame the safety and security of our deck (during this process we found out that Mr. Thomas decided not pull the required building permit).
The city building inspector has been out 3 times to view the deck and it has failed its inspection each time. During his last visit he advised that the screened in porch is unsafe and that we should stay off from it. At this point he condemmed our deck. The city of Chattnaooga and the State of Tennessee are actively reviewing Thomas General Contracting.
Please be aware of using this individual or his company. I have attached several pictures which outline and support my advise to stay away!

FYI- There is an error in the original post. The deck and covered porch were not condemned by the inspector. Also, the city has not begun or pursued an investigation against Thomas General Contracting.
