Thrifty Car rental added extra coverage even when declined. Las Vegas, Nevada
we reserved a car, declined all the extra insurance, loss damage, tripsaver loss. When the agent had us sign I questioned him about the amount he said the extra charge was the airport tax. Duh, we were in a hurry.. returned the car later that week, looked closer at the bill, and noticed the add ons that we refused. The clerk said we would have to file a complaint with the company, which we did. Got an email response saying we signed the contract, end of story. I asked Thrifty if the rental clerk gets a commission if he/she sells extra coverage. I was told yes. We have AAA insurance, do not need roadside assistance etc, don't need loss damage either. Bottom line-- The young man that rented us the car got one over on us by adding coverage we did not need. I'm a dumb a*s for trusting Thrifty to be honest. But we got to see Donnie and Marie !!
