I have had the heartache of dealing with Truman Foreclosure. What you speak is not anywhere near the truth. I paid Truman close to $3000.00 back in March. In September when my home was coming up for auction and I still had not heard anything from this company - (because to get a live response or simple email is next to impossible) no one responds back to you. I finally demanded my money back. Oh they produced alright. That day. A loan modification dropping my payment from 1485. to 744. SO I THOUGHT. Little did I know that was only my first lender. When i contacted my second lender and asked what the hold up was they proceeded to tell me that back in July 2nd they told Truman under no circumstances would they be offering me a loan modification. So what seemed like cutting my payments in half truly really was only $200 less and leaving out valuable information. Infact they never even told me about this. I have yet to talk to anyone. So I went to my local television station KATU.com and they did a story on me and this company. Google it. Homeowner out $3000 for loan modification. Infact I have it with Truman that I contacted the BBB and they rated them an "F", I contacted the Attorney General in the state of Florida and Washington. They are not even legal to offer any deals in the state of Washington. I have filed many many rip off reports....KATU even contacted them for there side of the story. KATU is still waiting a call back. Infact now when you call them they changed there directory. So coming from an employee and floating the boat on your company is a slap in the face. How much were you paid to reproduce that false story. TRUMAN FORECLOSURE IS A SCAM - and I am still awaiting someone to contact me to refund me my money...........What a joke this company is.

After doing some further investigating, I have found that this company appears to be on the up and up. If you can afford the cost in this trying time of ours with the layoffs and un-employment. If I myself could afford it right now I would use their services. Kathy Shawnee, KS

My name is Ken and i'm one of the GM's over at Truman Foreclosure Assistance in Smithtown. Before I begin I want to offer a most genuine, sincere apology to Kathy from Kansas. What is worse than reaching out in a time of need and subsequently being made to feel uncomfortable and uneasy, right? I also want to thank the powers that be at Rip-Off report for creating this fantastic forum in which individuals can both look out for one another and effectively bring attention to other individuals and entities that insist on doing business from a place of weakness, deceit and lies. All that being said Truman Foreclosure Assistance of New York is NOT one of those companies. I stumbled across this posting because my day to day routine always includes checking our BBB reports as well as sites like this one for any issues and or problems that need to be addressed. Making sure that the needs and expectations of our valued clients are met in a timely, professional manner is a non-negotiable part of our corporate culture that we take very, very seriously. Now to address some of the issues raised by Kathy. First off, we like many other companies in the loan modification business, the debt settlement business, the mortgage and insurance industries and many others, purchase inquiries from online referral services that link individuals that request a consultation (in Kathy's case an online form) with those that could potentially provide the service. In no way did we steal or hack her contact information. On the matter of our fee, we do indeed charge a flat $2295 for our modification services whether the property is valued at $100,000, $1 Million or more. That fee is typically broken into 3 installments to make it more manageable and is 100% FULLY RE-FUNDABLE if we here at Truman cannot live up to our end of the bargain by providing our client a viable, manageable solution to their mortgage troubles. We put this GUARANTEE in writing and in the rare cases where a solution cannot be found, we have gladly granted those clients an immediate FULL refund. One other point worth mentioning is that in our $2295 modification package, we always include a full forensic loan document audit. The goal of this audit is to uncover any federal, state or local violations of the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act, various disclosures, estimates and so forth at the inception of the loan. If such violations are indeed found we immediately send an injunction letter to the clients' lender making them aware of the violations and request that we immediately enter into negotiations. If a lender doesn't respond within 30 days we do reserve the right to assist the client in filing a predatory lending case against the lender if it is indeed warranted. I think it was during the explanation of this process that there was some level of miscommunication between Mr. Monroe and Kathy with regard to the extent and exact nature of the legal services that were to be rendered. I'll simply end by saying that any and all of our credentials with the BBB, D&B, an NBC-6 news piece on Loan Modification that was filmed at Truman HQ in Miami, as well as our express written money back guarantee can all be viewed and verified at www.trumanfany.com. And I do want to note that the previous post on Rip-Off report that was seen by Kathy in her google search, was and remains rescinded by the individual himself. Once again, my whole-hearted apology to you Kathy for the miscommunication and best of luck to you in your ongoing battle for the lucrative, successful modification you deserve!

It's unfortunate that some people don't review the evidence and documentation available about a company or service before posting negative or damaging commentary in a public forum. With regard to the impression that Ms. Knodweell has about The Truman Agency, it's obvious that she didn't do her homework. She also misrepresented the content of our discussion in that we filled out a complete spreadsheet comparing her income vs. her expenses. We didn't just ask a few questions about her loan and I never once said anything about securing a loan for her or anything about a loan application. Our job at Truman is to qualify prospective Clients for qualification of a loan modification prior to attempting to negotiate on their behalf with their mortgage holder. We don't accept just anybody. We only accept applicants that we are very sure that we can successfully place into a much improved financial situation upon completion of a successful negotiation to modify their mortgage loan. The reason for this is that we offer a 100% money back guarantee if we accept you as a client and fail to provide substantial improvement over your current mortgage situation. We are also a member of the Better Business Bureau and have been featured on NBC News after a thorough and lengthy review of our Agency. Ms. Knowdweell obviously didn't read the documentation, which I sent to her. She indeed has a terrible ARM, which could revert to a massive credit card interest rate if not modified. Yes; I said we could potentially save her $500 month. Maybe more, if there are violations on her original loan documents, which we determine after doing a forensic review. As far as the $2300 fee. We are an attorney based loan modification service. I don't know of any attorneys that don't charge a fee. I sent Ms. Knodweell a host of supporting documentation about our Agency. The fact that she either didn't read it, view it, or maybe understand it is a shame since she saw fit to post negative comments about an Agency that I'm proud to be a part of. Also, if Ms. Knodweell had looked a little further on the rip-off report she cites, she would have found that that complaint was rescinded. I think she should apologize. John Monroe
