Just wanted to post an update that this place is now closed after being "the oldest Mazda dealer in Alabama" for who knows how long. I honestly believe that this is not a coincidence and Mazda is part of the bigger problem here. While it may not be unusual for car dealers to scam people, it's not right and I for one and glad that every person that worked there lost a job...
Thank you for this website and thank you for helping get the word out about RipOffs like this.

This is pretty much the kind of treatment you can expect from most dealers after they've unloaded a piece of junk. If you expect any sort of support after the sale, you cannot buy "as is". That has a very clear meaning. A dealer's "xxx point inspection" is nothing more than a sales gimmick, designed to convince the buyer into buying a car without checking it out for him/herself. Think about it. If I offer you a car that has had a 100 point inspection, yet I insist that you must by the car "as is", what is the value of the inspection? Additionally, an inspection is just what it says. It doesn't mean that anyone actually fixed anything that was broken. Bottom line : When you buy a used car "as is", it is up to you, the buyer, to verify that the car is in good condition. The "as is" condition on the contract, pretty much negates anything that the salesman told you about the fitness of the vehicle.
