Your contract explains there is a early termination fee if you cancel before your contract ends. You sign this agreement when you start service. However, when you call to cancel your account, we explain every charge you will see on your following bills. If you were that close to your contract end date and you called us to let us know you were cancelling your account, we would have stressed to you that it would be in your best interest to hold on for the next week or month, whatever it may be, to avoid the charges. Also, if you did have early termination fees on your bill, and it the acount was cancelled by you and not from not paying your bill, you could have called us and restored the account for a month or two. We would have credited the fees and then you could have cancelled it later without penalty. Many people just stop paying the bill and are then cancelled for non payment; others port their number out to another carrier and don't even call to see if they are still under contract. Customers do have the responsibility to know how their plan/contracts work. We try very hard to help our customers and of course the BBB wouldn't do anything, we didn't do anything wrong. We kept our end of the agreement.
