Unifund Partners Unifund uses criminal collection practices Cincinnati Ohio
Unifund is a collection agency headed by one David G Rosenberg of Cincinnati OH. In 1995 I fell behind on the payments on a credit card. The debt totaled a little over $900. The credit card company decided to "call" the debt and demanded payment in full.I offered payments. They refused and I never heard from them again. Last month I received a notice of collection from Unifund. It seems they had bought up this debt. Instead of $900 they wanted $4000. I offered them $3000. They said no $4000. I received a notice of a court date. I called and offered them $3500. They said that the court date was off and that they would let me know. This week (Christmas week) I discovered that Unifund had gotten a judgement for $7500 against me and had frozen my bank accounts and the bank accounts of a business where I am a junior partner. As I have researched this company on the web I have discovered that they are "breaking new ground" in debt collection and mining debts that others thought were uncollectable. In short they are a criminal enterprise.
