Union Energy Reliance Home Comfort Union Enegy sold me an air conditioner that does not work, and has stood me up twice when I called to fix it Oshawa Ontario
In November of last year we replaced our furnace and air conditioner with a new high efficency furnace and air conditioner. The furnace worked fine, but when I tried starting the air conditioner this spring, it would not start. I tried turning the temp down to 5 degrees to see if that would at least start the air conditioner. That did not work. I looked for an on-off switch on the air conditioner, and there was none.
I called Reliance Home Comfort call centre to schedule an appointment. They said, wait till May, because the company does not want to schedule Air Conditioner calls before May. I was not overly impressed, but I scheduled an appointment on May 2, 2008. After telling me that she would not schedule the appointment for the air conditioner till may, the agent said that "Reliance is here to service it's customers 24 hours a day seven days a week."
I found that to be a daft statement considering that they told me wiait till May.
On May 2nd the technican misses the appointment. This is in spite of the technican having a four hour window to come. There was no phone call from the technican either. Reliance said to expect a phone call.
I called Reliance, and I was not amused that the technican did not make the scheduled appointment. I asked that considering that the air conditioner did not work, and I was stood up by the technican, could I have another company do the repair work. I was put on told, and then I was told that all they could offer me is another service call. I agreed to the service call, and made it clear to them, that if the technican misses the appointment again, they can have their rental water heater back. (I can't pull out the furnace, but I can choose another company to rent a water heater from.) They said that a technican would be out sometime between 8:00am and 6:00pm. (You have to love how they are able to peg down an appointment time.)
On May 3rd, I wait from 8:00am till 2:00pm for the technican to show up. I received a phone call at approximately 2:00pm. The Reliance Call centre said they could not make the appointment because of the weather. (Oddly enough the weather conditons were cloudy for the day.) They said they would like to schedule another appointment.
After wasting my time I was not in the mood to schedule another appointment with Reliance, especially considering their track record on attending appointments.
After spending $10,000 the furnace and air conditioner. I cannot help but feel ripped off by Reliance.
