Per Intl Contract of Carriage - you were provided a seat. (no further discussion as you stated you had a seat on a flight that went from A to B.) As for your upgrade to e-plus that you paid for - if you had Prem status it would be valid for the remainder of the year obtained plus the entire next year - thus you would not have to pay for E-Plus seats. Further if you really do travel (on UA) 3-4 times annually for Intl travel - you would easily obtain / maintain Prem or better status and the associated benefits. BTW - there are many fare prices and benefits depending on time of purchase, status, promos, etc... I bet some of the Biz / First class passengers paid LESS than your ticket - just a guess - but often true! As for the large person in the middle seat - I personnaly would have insisted the arm rest be DOWN so as not to encroach into my seat - then leave to that person and flight attendent to find her another set of seats (and she would have to pay for them if they were not readily available) - or find you alternate seating. As for no window - if you had a seat - which you did - see opening paragraph - if you were in the e-plus section which you were - then UA met their contractual obligations! As for lines - many things in life require some set of order and thus likely a queue / wait - fly more get better status, get RC membership, buy Biz class, etc and gain the benefits of faster response, etc - else STFU! As for entertainment system, and otehr ammenities - see Contract of Carriage and comment on benefits of status or other higher priced seat and frequent travel (read more valuable customer). "Experienced business traveller" -- surely does not read that way - else you would be familiar with your checkin / transit options at NRT and LAX; as well as the benefits and rights and UA's contractual obligations! Summary - waste your money and your energy on complaints in court - end result - your ignorance should not see the light of day!
