Universal Rock Pools & Spas - Regal Pools & Spas - Carefree Pools & Spas - James Enos Bello Sr. Unscrupulous, Poor Service, 2 year nightmare, Mechanic's liens on my home by unpaid sub-contractors San Bernardino, Upland, Victorville California
Our pool was built by Universal Rock Pools & Spas, Inc. 2 years ago. Almost complete lack of communication from the beginning of construction. Recurring rust stains in the plaster caused 3 repair attempts, each one bigger and uglier than the last.
Certified mail and personal visits to the office finally resulted in the pool being re-plastered on 04/10/08. I was informed by sub-contractors on 04/28/08 that Universal had closed their doors, filed for bankruptcy, and told the subs to seek remedy through the courts.
The sub-contractors have notified me of their intent to place Mechanic's Liens against my home, even though the work was done by Universal to satisfy their warranty. Complaint filed with California State Contractors License Board (#NA 2007-19143).
According to CSLB, the Responsible Managing Officer of the corporation is James Enos Bello, Sr. Mr Bello also is the RMO of Carefree Pools & Spas, Inc. and Regal Pools and Spas, Inc. Mr. Bello has not responded to my certified letter to him, or shown any evidence of responsibility or management concerning this rip-off by one of his corporations.

I'm the owner of Universal Rock also known as Universal Rock Pools, I met Mr. Dennis Levine while he was working as a salesman for Sunset Pools. I did the rock work for Sunset pools for many years. He had approached me about buying my company, which was not for sale. Within a few months of our conversation I started receiving phone calls about the advertising we were doing, people were seeing ads everywhere. Our deliveries were being mixed up, we would receive past due bills that belonged to the fake Universal Rock Pools and Spas, Inc. I failed to mention I have held the DBA Universal Rock since 1991. I was told Dennis Levine had stolen the 800 phone from Sunset Pools for two weeks and diverted the calls to his number in order to steal leads from them. He used Sunset Pools logo in his ads, my company name and pictures of Rock Formations work. I contacted the same lawyer that Sunset Pools obtained to sue Dennis Levine. My wife phoned Mr. Bello and questioned him as to why he would steal the name of our company, he informed her he could'nt care less, and if she had $15,000 he would get her a pool license. She asked him if he was aware of our company, at first he said no, and then he said I had not shown up at his home several years prior to this, she said so you were aware that you were stealing our name and he hung up on her. He also stated that he had nothing to do with the running of the company and she needed to talk to Dennis Levine. I can only imagine how the homeowners feel that were taken in by Mr. Levine, with no construction background, other than selling pools, (to my knowledge) I knew it was only a matter of time before things would catch up with him. This has caused not only financial losses for me, but great emotional stress. I take my reputation very seriously, I'm a member of the Better Business Bureau with a AAA rating, I have spent many years building my business and earning the trust of my loyal customers. I have had phone calls from customers that thought they were calling me and reached the phony Universal Rock Pools and Spas, Inc. they were told that they were affiliated with us, inorder to steal their business from me. There are so many situations that have occured in the past few years that it would take far too much time to mention them all.
