Hi I purchased an icomfort mattress and adjustable box in October of 2013 from valu city in Toledo,Ohio. I was told I would recieve a $300 gift card. This is the only reason I paid for the set at that moment. I have not received gift card and have been given the run around with every store visit and office call about the issue. Not one time had an manager apologized for the inconvience nor have I even spoken to a manager due to they are never available when I call or visit. The customer service reps keep saying the same thing time after time -they will note my account. I don't recieve a call back or anything. Now if I don't hear from someone I would like for valu city to just pick up the mattress and I can spend my money else where. I have dealt with valu city for years and this is actually quite ridiculous. I have down about and maybe over $4000 for the set and to have to make many calls over a gift card is ridiculous!!! I will no longer shop at this store and I will never refer anyone either. If the issue is not addressed I will take further action. It's not just about the gift card anymore it goes further than "just" that. I spent my hard earned money in this store and the least I could get is a meeting or call with a manager!! I've tried to contact corporate about the issue and even that is hard to do. As a business you should try to make a repeat customer happy. I am not satisfied with my last purchase or the customer service!

For the record I was told by an associate that a manager would contact me. Which has yet to happen. I am not the only person this has happen to. In order to recieve a gift card I had to have a voucher number that never arrived. I have the right to speak about an issue if it's wrong. I've dealt with this company for over 10 years and if I spent a "measly" $4000+ on just a bed imagine how much I've spent over the years! If the company doesn't want to issue the card just simply say it and since I am within my window of warranty they could come pick up there mattress and frame and I will simply take my money elsewhere. The sales associate will say and do whatever to make the sale and take my money but when it come to backing their words there is a problem. I was told I have to keep the mattress 30 days before they would send the voucher so I waited and I contacted them they told to contact someone else so I did that only to get nowhere I returned to the store and was told they would contact corporate about the issue and get back to me. So I waited and yet again nothing so I ventured back to the store and the person helping me was new and didn't know what she needed to assist me so I asked if I could speak to a manager and one wasn't available. How is it that if I want to speak with a manager about a purchase they are everywhere bit to speak with one about an issue they are unavailable. Managers are also there too assist customers. I've managed plenty of places and if there was something wrong i quickly addressed the issue corrected or explained why I couldn't Correct the issue and if there were still a problem I directed them to corporate. So don't get on here trying to tell me what a managers job is. Like I said the card is not the main issue it's time and time of being told one thing to see nothing be done. i had to give my receipt info before a card could be issued info only I and the store had so if a card was received and used then ok say so but none of that happened. They just wanted my money and that's that.

Why would you bother a manager? Why SHOULD they apologize for something THEY have zero control over. If you havent recieved your gift card then you probably either missed the window to reddem it or dont qualify for it. Managers ARE NOT your personal bitching post. They have a job to do. That WHY they are managers. They have already worked their way up the food chain and have an incredibly difficult job to do.
Whine a little harder. If you were REALLY making all these calls and visits and STILL havent recieved a gift card then you probably are not going to get it. You either missed the window to redeem, which is the case 95% of the time. Or you dont qualify for it. YOUR just like every other consumer out there. YOU think your going to get a different answer from the manager then you recieved from the associates. YOU think the manager is some form of cover all for your problem. Managers ONLY have the power that their company ALLOWS them to have. If youre expecting some form of resolution out of the manager then you are HIGH or HIGHLY deluded. A manager is there to run the day to day operations. Not to back door you a gift card. Because thats what you want them to do. You CLAIM you only purchased the item BECAUSE it had a gift card. Lets not forget that is what EVERYONE says. As it comes in the mail, it can be assumed that you did recieve your card and you are just trying to scam them.
Im not saying you are, but thats how businesses look at it. THEY cannot outright call you a liar or a theif. But if you have made that many calls and visits and STILL havent recieved it, then they probably DID do research on it and found that the card that was sent to you WAS used. When that is the case, they will not reissue another one. It could have been stolen from your mailbox. It could have arrived and someone you know swiped it. Or it arrived and you spent it. THEY can not know.
They wont take back the furniture. Its beyond the window of return. You can stomp your feet all you like but they have your money and they are under ZER0 obligation to give you a refund. In states where there are laws on refunds, its normally for defective product so the consumer has some form of legal recourse. Your only real option is to contact the corporate offices and ask to speak to a customer resolution tech. I would keep YOUR personal opinions out of the conversation. Well that is if the goal is to get the gift card. If its like your post reads, then go ahead and call and complain. And lets face the truth here. If all you have done is b***h and whine then they arent going to work with you. Your MEASELY $4000 isnt worth the repeat business if your a pain in the a*s customer. The customer is NEVER right and the customer is ALWAYS trying to screw you. The customer hasnt been "right" since the 1960's when the baby boomers hit the scene. That saying was true when there were more businesses then there were customers. But NOW the customers are over 10000x more then businesses. So they DONT HAVE TO CARE. They could lose you and not even think about you past 5 mins.
Just remember you get more flys with Honey then you do with B****. Try and remember this. It wont kill you to be nice.
