Mr. Taylor presented himself to be licsensed, bonded and insured to move my mobile home in Alabama. Van Taylor did not even have a valid DL when he moved my home. BEWARE!!! He has done this to other people and is still doing it today! Fortunately I blocked him from leaving with my home and called the police. He did not have proper escorts and his son Kevin Taylor and his wife are also involved in his criminal activities. He will wait until just before dark to move homes. I began to write the DOT numbers down that were written in with marker off the side of his truck and he exploded! Please check all companies out by contacting Manufactured Housing Assosication in your state before allowing anyone to move your home. Me and my 4 year old were without a home for over a month!

I can't believe you! You must really think we are morans. Everyone knows you were in jail in Lubbock, TX, we have avenues to verify that. Maybe not that day but the previous days you were. P.S. My parents haven't heard from you in regards to you making amends. I hadn't forgot!

scott raines is at home, not in a jail in luboock county texas as you say. i am scott raines. i still disagree with what you say and do. i feel that you are taking something and turning it into something else. as far as me being van taylor, he would probably like that..... i hate to hear he is having problems as well. i am still willing to discuss my problems and a solution with anyone who feels they need to do so at 423-432-1653. thank you, scott raines

Van Taylor aka Scott Allen Raines

I suspect Van Taylor goes by another name - Scott Allen "Alfie" Raines. He is a mobile home moving thief who has been ripping people off for almost 20 years. He does the same type of scams described by victims of Mr. Taylor. He has stolen literally millions of dollars and has thousands of victims all over the country. Mr. Raines is in the Lubbock, TX jail right now for the next two months while awaiting trial. Anyone who is a victim needs to contact FBI Agent Scott Barker at 423-755-5571. He is assembling a class action Federal lawsuit to put Mr. Raines in Federal prison for a long time. Best of luck and I am sorry for your loss.

I was victimized and reported this in Chelsea years ago. You should see my complaint above Just to update all.....he and his partners in crime have victimized over 50 more people since my complaint. I have written Brenda Ladun, The Birmingham News with no response. What he did to me and my family was nothing compared to what he has done to so many others. I have heard that he is hiding the stolen damaged homes and selling them to unsuspecting people to get rid of them in a hurry. There is obviously some sort of shady business going on that has kept this man in business. I had an attorney who I felt lost interest suddenly about an hour before we were to go to court he had it continued because he was sick. LOL! I no longer needed his services. Another attorney who offered to "help us all" with a class action lawsuit. But not before signing away my soul to him and he has no longer been heard from. The contract stated he would help us and collect his fee when/if he won the case....and if not....well we had to pay him anyway!!! (i told him he was crazy if he thought i was signing his contract) It is obvious my lawsuit against him has been swept under the rug....i have not had one word from anyone regarding the continuance which was over a year ago about my case. Mr. Taylor had lots off assets that seem to have been transferred into one of his family members name. He has shot a people for goodness sake! This is going on in other states also. He has a paypal account set up so he can rip of people compliments of the internet now! What a wonderful world we live in!

The FMCSA [Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration] regulates and provides safety and compliance info to the public on ALL licensed commercial carriers. You can get the DOT license and insurance info by going to fmcsa.gov and click on the safer web tab and then the carrier snapshot tab. ALL commercial carriers are required to carry DOT/MC# certificates as well as the actual certificate of insurance. Did you ask to see these PRIOR to letting them move your trailer? If you knew the driver had no driver's license, why did you let him proceed? FYI..$1600 wouldn't even cover the teardown and setup cost with any reputable company. I think you were blinded by cheap. Like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
