Hello everyone,
I signed up for a Virgin Gaming account back in August 2012 with the intention of making some pocket money playing FIFA. I made a mistake of not reading their T&C section, but I still think I have a case here:
I applied for the account from Hungary, which is not included in the accepted territories according to their T&C. However, they allowed me to play and obviously they kept taking their management fees from every game I played even though, as they later mentioned in an email, they saw I was playing from Hungary.
I accumulated about 70 USD in my account, which I wanted to withdraw in late October. At this point I was residing inside the UK, as I am student here. They asked for a copy of my ID and I sent them my Hungarian ID, to which they said I cannot use their services anymore as I am accessing their site from Hungary. But then I sent them a bank account statement as proof of my UK address, to which they said I need a UK ID to access their site. This is when I got absolutely frustrated because their T&C clearly state that one has to be resident and has to physically residing in an allowed territory to use their services. I fulfilled both criteria.
Since then I have been flooding them with my emails but they are always giving me an automatic answer telling me that they forwarded my request to the finance them and they will reply. Well they never did.
Here is how I see this: I should not have played from Hungary, but they should definitely not have allowed me to play, let alone taking management fees. Now I am physically residing inside the UK but they still will not let me even log in to my account and there is 70 USD in there which is not their money, simple as that.
I would be happy to read any suggestions you may have. I would love to take legal action but for 70 USD if think any lawyer would just laugh at me, but at the same time I would hate if they got away with this, especially because I have read numerous other complaints of how unfair VG is to their customers.
