Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have a defective seat belt and Volvo ----the reputed leader in safety refuses to warrant this 2002 S80 model.

From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]

Thank you for contacting Volvo Cars of North America.

We apologize for the difficulty you have experienced with the seat belt for your 2002 S80 sedan

(VIN # ). Volvo puts great effort into designing and manufacturing a quality vehicle that will be as safe and durable as current engineering technology will allow. While it would be ideal for any vehicle to remain repair free, it is possible that some vehicles will require

corrections over time.

It is not possible for us to offer an explanation as to why you have experienced a problem with the seat belt.

We have given careful consideration to your situation. As much as we desire to resolve each of our

customers' requests to their satisfaction, it is not always possible to meet every expectation. We regret to inform you that Volvo is not in a position to offer cost assistance for this repair as your S80 falls outside our normal goodwill parameters.

Volvo appreciates the time you have taken to advise us of your concerns. We understand that your experience is not to your expectation and apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Bill

WHY?

Why would you expect a car company to cover anything on a six or more year old vehicle? How many miles are on this vehicle? I guess some people just believe all the ads they see. Had a guy come into my shop the other day with a worn out 10 year old POS fossil watch. He just couldn't understand when I told him it was worn out and time to buy a new watch. He was under the impression it would run forever and he'd never have to buy another. He left in a daze with a bewildered look on his face. He thought his $100 purchase would last forever, kind of like what the OP expects his seatbelt to do.
