Walmart's deliberate, fraudulent, deceitful, duplicitous, black-friday deals make me sooooo angry. In 2009 and 2010 walmart's deals made me run to the store. Arriving 4-hours before the time the items were to sold, I was shocked that there was NO place to park in their lot, and police were standing at the entry doors. I finally parked in a nearby hotel lot and and walked a bit, to get inside the store, and get in line to wait for the magic black-friday hour to begin. Within 5-minutes of sale start, the item was sold out. Angry I left the store both times empty handed and swore I would never do that again. I live in a rural area having to drive about 25-one way miles to a walmart store, of which I have two to pick from.
This past 2011 sale, Walmart was offering a $29.00 faux leather ottoman, with a hinged lid, that I wanted to store pet toys in. I liked the ottoman height, as it would sit nicely under living room window, so my pet could sit on top and look out the window. But, this year 2011, I was going to be smarter, and in early morning I phoned both stores to make sure the item was indeed on their floor for the sale. Get this, the store manager on duty at one store, checked their stock and said I'm sorry, we have NOT received that item for black-friday. Okay, I called the next store that is also 25-miles from me, and ask for their acting store manager. I explained what happened in 2009 + 2010, and I wanted to make sure the item was in their store for the sale. After checking the store inventory, the manager came back on the phone and said "you had better get here early because we only got in 6-pieces, and its first come first served."
So off to the store I went again, replaying the same senerio as happened in the earlier years. The sale was to begin at 10:00 p.m., I arrived and parked at 6:00 p.m., again no parking was available in the lot. I did park in some type of field, walked to the store, and stood in furniture waiting for those 6-pieces to come out of their storage room, to NO AVAIL... NO 6-pieces, NO 6-Ottomans. Well I got heck out of the store, and it took me a long, long time to get through the traffic to the highway,so I could make my way home.
Once home I got online and wrote to walmart telling of my experience, using the same descriptive words as I have here; being that walmart purposely and deliberately has used fraudulent, deceitful, duplicitous, practices to get people into their stores for black-friday. I request a rain-check of which I was denied.
Now that's not the worst of it, by the next morning, the local News announced that both of these stores by me, had gun shootings in their parking lots, and verbal fights within the stores over there not being enought products for sale, and at least one arrest at each store. I have decided I do NOT need walmart, and have not been back to do any shopping, and will NOT ever go back to shop, as my money will spend very nicely at any other store, that have and use respectful practices.

When you get to Walmart, talk to the manager and ask where the item you're looking for is going to be placed. Don't assume that it will be in it's usual location. The stores here had the advertised items wrapped on pallets and brought them out to a predetermined location for the sale. A video game items my daughter wanted was placed in the grocery section, but she had talked with the manager and knew where it was going to be so she was able to make her purchase.
The stores were not "fraudelent, deceitful, duplicitous" (sic) in any way The advertised goods were available for the sale in most cases. The amount may have been limited and the items may have been displayed in a different area, but they were there. For the items that weren't shipped to your local store, the ads do carry disclaimers about this. As far as your ottoman goes, you should be able to buy one . From your description and price, I've seen this item in both the stores within 5 miles of my house.
