Complaint Review: WANYE COUNTY FRIEND OF COURT - Detroit Michigan

There are many issues with FOC. I will tell you the plain truth as I have learned the hard way FOC stands for Forget Our Children. FOC works against the best interest of the child on both sides of this matter. Th children who's fathers pay child support faithfully suffer as FOC regularly puts out warrents for their arrest. They then have to pull records from their job to prove they are innocent and the list go's on. The FOC is only concerned about collecting money that benifits them. If your former husband has more money then you and can pay the court filing fees and other items they will find or slant in his favor. The law means little to the FOC as they make a joke out of it as I am sure you saddly have seen. The only time I saw any positive action taken was when an older man who's child was all grown up and who had paid all his child support owing nothing, was still being charged He came in person brought all records and refused to speak to the office staff they requesed he speak to. He demanded to speak to the auditor or the person who keeps the books. Well he got that person after refusing to take no for an answer and promising to show up every day until justice was served. Well he got to see the man and the issue was resolved as well as they had to pay him thousands of dollars they owed him. You must be a fighter they will try to wear you down. I do know you may want to check an internet site for laws as you can not charge a current spouse for chidren that are not theirs. I have to agree with this as I am married to a man who has a son by a former wife. I do not owe and my income should not be considered as a benifit to that child. If I chose to give the child gifts or money that is at my discretion.But I as not there for the fun of making that child I have no legal authority over that child so the mom and dad of that child must pool their resourses for their child. The same for my child I expect her father and I to pool our money and raise our child. I do not feel my husband owes her anything. What he dose he dose for the love of an innocent child, but the state should not meddle here. It is very close to crossing the civil rights laws.
