As far as not receiving your bill, their records will ALWAYS indicate that it was sent, so you can't prove it wasn't. When you correspond with ANY credit card company, in fact, any company that you have loans thru, always send your letters thru certified mail- then you will have proof of something at least. If you don't pay up what you were told to pay, then say goodbye to your credit score, and hello to the maximum interest rates. The best thing you can do if you care about your credit is get that rotten card current and THEN fight it out. Oh- and by all means- stop using the card!! Pay it off and then close it. It's better for your credit to close it after it's paid off. I had to leave WaMu- I needed to sleep at night. The things I saw there were downright scary and appalling. I thought that Chase was the Cadillac of the banks but since they bought one of the biggest sub-prime companies in the Universe, I have to say maybe they ain't that great, because you can bet that they will lower their previous standards to WaMu's. Good luck with this.

You have to report this to the Federal Trade Commission and Office of Thrift Supervision. FTC compiles complaint data so they can watch for patterns and OTS will work on your behalf to make them remove the late fee from your account. While on the Federal Trade Commission Website - read the Fair Credit Billing Act. I had a similar problem with WAMU (before chase) and removing my mailing address (different from home address) from my account records and lying to me about the status of my account and kept insisting I did not owe them any money - WHICH I DISPUTED WITH THEM FOR MONTHS! OTS MADE THEM remove the account from collections correct my credit reports remove all late fees and interest that accrued because they refused to allow me to pay my bill.
