Wayfair's Policy is to take the customer at their word. If someone gets a damaged item Wayfair will, in most circumstances simply replace the item and tell the customer to dispose of the item they received damaged. It's only on rare occasions would Wayfair "ban" anyone from shopping with them unless a pattern appears in orders. Even then Wayfair would not "refuse" to refund anyone's money. They may ask for the damaged items back prior to a refund as this policy does have a tendency to be abused.
