This is the biggest rip off in history and they are getting away with it on a daily basis. Just read the reviews on YELP. I financed a car through Westlake Financial approximately six months ago. My payments are due on the 20th of each month, in the amount of $335.00. on the 19th of June I made a payment of $300.00. On July 15th, they repossessed my car. I called several times to ask what the amount was to get my car back and several times they said they didn't have an exact dollar amount. Mind you the cost to store my car continues to add up daily. Finally today they gave me the amount of $997.00 plus an additional $60.00 for storage. When asked for a breakdown of the fees they said that because I didn't pay the $35.00 left on my June carnote, the said that the $300.00 I paid in June went to the principal and the $997.00 was for the June payment and repossession fees. Don't forget I have another payment due on July 20th. This is the biggest rip off in history. This is fraud against a consumer, I am going to talk to an attorney!

The Sub-Prime attitude at it's best

There is a reason you are with this Sub-Prime lender...and this attitude is it.

The fact is that you per the legally binding contract you signed requires you to pay a specific amount on a specific day.  If you do not pay that full amount due then you are considered delinquent.  It doesn't matter that you tried to pay "something"..since it wasn't the full amount you were delinquent and they had every legal right to reposess the car.

As for the "reviews".  Just about every one of those will be by other Sub-Prime borrowers who think they can pay what ever they want, when they want.  And when the finance company doesn't agree or actually wants them to make their payment..they complain.

Finally if you have enough money to talk to an attorney...you have enough money to actually *gasp* make your full payment ON-TIME.  Because if you think that an attorney is going to take your case without requiring a huge retainer you are truly living in a dream world.

You had your car respossed because you did not make the full payment.  Check the contract you signed.  YOU are responsible to make the payments on time because they made a LOAN to you for a car not you to them.  No Attorney would touch this with a ten foot poll because, once again, you SIGNED a contract.
