I bought an Xbox 360 game console off Ebay in February of 2009. I received the Xbox fairly fast after they received my payment. The price was about $180, so it was good, but not too good to be true.

I eagerly hooked up my new Xbox, and played it for less than 8 hours over 2 days, before it froze up and gave me the red ring of death ( hardware issue). Also I had to pry the disc tray open with a knife. I e-mailed the Xbox refurbished, and they sent me out a box to return the Xbox. I mailed out and then waited patiently for it to return.

2 weeks later the Xbox was returned. I played it for 3 hours and it got the same red ring of death. At this point I tried calling the company to see if they were getting this issue a lot or if maybe the fault was mine. I thought it might be overheating. They answered after several days of me calling during their business hours, and said they will have to send me out another Xbox. So again I ship out the Xbox. I wait my two weeks, and get it back in the mail.

I played for 10 hours over a week, and again same red ring of death. I send it in again, wait, and then get the Xbox back. I get the same red ring of death. This is the fourth time in 4 months. I ask for a return, and I am told I could do that but they were going to charge me a 15% restocking fee. I was livid, and so I decided to make them keep replacing the Xbox, so when I do return it I am going to get my 15 % worth.

One more time I get an Xbox, and get about two weeks worth of play out of it. I went on vacation for a week, and when I came back got the red ring of death. I e-mailed Xbox refurbished for the shipping label to send the Xbox in, and they tell me that the Xbox is out or warranty. I threaten them through e-mail with filing reports on here, through e-bay, and the BBB. I get an e-mail back saying no problem you can return the system for the 15 % restocking fee. At this point I am shipping everything out tomorrow, and will see if they ever refund me. For some reason I doubt it.
