I'm having Kurt Price's company, 800 New Look, re-side my home in James Hardie fiber cement siding. The project is still in progress, and thus far, has been unacceptable. First of all, the start date of the project has been pushed back several times. The owner justifies these delays by saying that construction is unpredictable due to bad weather, etc. Initially, I was patient with the owner, however, as time went on, it became apparent that this was just an excuse for poor pre-planning on the part of the company. Once the project did finally start, the siders were here for only 2 days and then were not to be seen for almost close to a week.
Out of frustration, I called Kurt Price with an explanation. He told me that the siders had to "tie up some loose ends" on another job and would resume work on my house as soon as they finished up on the other house. It's almost been 3 weeks since the project was supposed to start, and the siders have only been here 3 times total and single piece of siding has NOT yet been hung. I find this to be completely unacceptable. I have taken days off at work to be here with the siders and more than once now, nobody has shown up, hence making me waste my days off. Second of all, the workmanship is very shoddy. I've expressed to the owner and the siders several times that there should not be voids left open overnight as I dont want any critters or rain to enter the attic cavity.
I believe this is a reasonable request. Well apparently that went in one ear and out the other because before the siders decided leave for a week, they ripped of frieze board in several areas and left voids with direct access into the attic. I had to take it upon myself to temporarily patch those voids myself with small cutouts of plywood. Had I not done so, these voids would still be open, more than a week after the frieze boards were ripped off. One would think that after paying several thousand dollars to a company to have their house re-sided a homeowner should not have to do something like that.
After speaking with Kurt Price, and relaying to him my frustrations and concerns, he has assured me that the siders will direct their attention on my house until the project is complete. I told him that I expect excellent service and quality workmanship from here on out to make up for the very poor service I have received thus far. Depending on the remainder of the project goes and whether the owner, Kurt Price, keeps his word, I may amend my review. Lastly, I must also mention I chose 800 New Look because the bid was competitive and the owner, Kurt Price, came across as an honest, genuine person. I am now starting to regret this decision.

We have reviewed our records and are confident that this customer wound up being satisfied with our work (as implied by the fact that he never made another post).
It is true that we had difficulty with a siding crew that took a while to resolve. This particular project was more complicated than most and required skilled workers to perform to our high standards. Our managers spent a great deal of time on site to make sure this project was completed to our customer’s satisfaction.

After another no-show by the siders, yesterday the owner informed me that he fired said siders. Hetold me he has lined up another crew which works very fast to do my project. He assured me the project will be completed in a week's time and it will be done to my satisfaction. I cautiously optimistic. Depending on how the project goes, I will update my original review.
