a forever recover AFR Suppose to be one of the top programs in country. Ex client feb13-mar13. staff treat ls u like elementary. Bunk beds cheap-. So much $$ to go here and the faculty is poorly done. Internet, Michigan
I am an ex-client to (AFR) a forever recovery. I will not give my name for (reasons) of doesn't make a difference.
It is located in battle creek, mi I was there feb. 2013- march-2013. 31 days.
I come from alabama deep a*s south so I like the heat and outdoors. It was so cold there it's almost unbearable. So if your from a warm climate I wouldn't advise (WD) withdraw in the bitter cold. The console r's and most high level positions are well maintained. By dedicated caring people. But the have a process there you get a limit of 4 write ups a week. Anymore and you'll have to go to (CBO) congenital behavior therapy- there the ones that punish u have to deal with people wanting to leave ect..
My personal experience..I got 6 writes ups in 1 week punishment: had to wear an orange vest work detail (WD) I was on it 3 full days could not talk to anyone. And in there all you've got to do is talk. 2nd level they put u on is room detonation-(cannot leave room 3 days food will brought.) better make Freind's with some security so u might get a smoke or 2. The 3rd level is (CLBT) tough- in a class room with no chairs 8 hours a day for 3 days eat and everything in there and finish work + a 3000 page easy. Once a week a chore list would come out has anything and everything to do on it from mopping the gym bathroom to emptying out cig butt cans. U can't just pop out for a smoke either you have to be 25 feet from building. (Leave it to Michigan).
They had 4 phones for 100+ people and only 2 worked. Cheaper than a pay phone. Every phone call was set at 10 min. It was set to turn off once u hit 10 min max u had to have/pay for your own phone card. 40$ for 1000 min. U had to make bed in moring I mean just not make it it better be done really good or you get a write up. I had been to a 80,000$ west palm beach rehab before so it wasn't my first time so I knew what to look for. I over heard one day security bragging about writing people up. I payed 30gs to go back to school? No packages is BS. They have there own store for tobacco products. Open 1 hour a day and cigs were 8$ a pack outrages where I'm from that's 4$ to much. I didn't want to purchase an MP3 player from them so I had one mailed got approved by them and then waited. 1 day someone told me they saw this package so I tried to revive it I went to 5 different people in dif. Depots and they assured me it wasn't there yet. Believing it was an honest mistake I went on about my business. I talked to my farther 2 days later and found out they had my package and lied to me about it and mailed it back home. That was the straw that broke the camels back.
What really upset me the most about this place I was suppose to only be there 2 weeks that was the deal back home with my house,car,money I was assured it would all be taken care of while I was away. I had a plane ticket for march 1st 500$. 2 days before I paid for my own flight. I told my parents about leaving and wanting to leave I didn't enjoy this place or climate so I wanted to leave of course. So I knew I had no help I had a close Freind to book it for me I got my info and was ready. I waited as long as I could to tell them cause I knew it was going to be a huge a*s ordeal. Little did I know this place had been listing to my phone convo. And coached my parents into blackmailing me with my property and money into staying. They told me they would take me to homeless shelter instead of airport. And I had no $ no help back home thanks to them brain washing of coaching my parents. I missed the flight and throw another 500$ out my a**. I got suspended (kicked out) march 15th for a joke gone wrong I meant to scare one of my buddies by acting like I was going to pull his pants down in the smoke shack. I did and his pants hit the floor as did his underwear I front of like 3 (peer council)- group appointed by staff over everyone the kiss a*s snitches. And 2 new people. They had me on camera.
Was I looking for a way out..yes. Doing that..no. I didn't mean to and it sucked a** at first but I was happy to finally win and leave 30g to them bitter sweet accidental victory. Remember these people do it for a living so don't think you can out wit them. Cause the law doesn't mean to much to them. Only good thing is at least u know when there bullshiting.
