This report is regarding our experience with A-One Heating & Cooling Inc. 275 Maltbie Street, Lawrenceville Ga. 30046
On 9/28/2010 we contacted this company to install new Trane Heat Pumps and Air Handlers at our home in Auburn, Georgia to the tune of $8342.00. This included 1 year labor and 10 years parts.
On 8/9/2013, less than 3 years since the installation, the downstairs air went out. No cold air and the blower was not working at all. After contacting A-One we were told that there would be a $69.00 service fee and labor if needed.
On 8/12/2013 the tech arrived and shortly thereafter we were told that the blower motor in the downstairs air handler had gone bad and needed to be replaced. This would be $304.00 including the service fee. So, what choice did we have with the winter approaching we need the heatpump to work so we went ahead with the repair. Now on 8/23/2013 more of the same, only its the upstairs air this time. No cold air, no heat, and the blower was not working at all. We called "JENNY" at their office 770-963-2345 and asked for another service call tech diagnosis. Bearing in mind that less than 2 weeks ago we spent $304.00 on an $8342.00 system that was less than 3 years old, we were not happy campers.
After speaking with "JENNY", we understood that there was going to be another service fee of $69.00. I do understand that, no one works for free, however, when she told me that it would be $99.00 because it was a Saturday, the conversation turned a bit contentious.
I told her that all things considered that her company should bend a bit and diagnose it for $69.00 as they were just here less than 2 weeks ago, and that I did not appreciate having to have so much work done on such a new system. Suffice it to say that the conversation went downhill from there. Rather then let me vent a bit she was confrontational and said that " I am not going to listen to this ". So, now, . . . . this report.
There were also some issues during the installation regarding requiring the homeowners to cut a hole in the garage ceiling for access to the wiring, and removal of the fold down stairs from the 2nd floor ceiling, again, to give them access. Although this should have been made clearer during the original estimate, we were willing to live with the issue even considering there is still a hole in my garage ceiling and my attic stairs have never been right since. I don't know about you, but when you pay $8300 for something as a customer, you really should not have to do any of the work.
We are now left with a non-functioning Trane system that evidently is a money-pit.
Although their tech was capable and friendly, A-One Heating & Cooling leaves much to be desired in the way of customer service. I do not recomend this company or Trane Equipment in any way shape or form unless you have deep pockets and like being hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and damage to your ceiling.
