Just got an email saying that their phones are down and that they are responding only to emails.
Guess they have MANY brides / grooms who want their videos for XMAS and can't get them.
I can't wait for them to be squashed even if it means I don't get paid !

A Solid Gold Sound is quite simply the most brazen scam I hve ever encountered in my work as a wedding dj in my last 25+ years of playing music for Brides. They scam the vendors like myself: dj's and Videographers because you will not be paid for the work you performed. I've read dozens of complaints from vendors and Brides alike who have either not been paid or have had their wedding days ruined. Here's HOW they do their dirty work : They LURE brides in by getting them to respond to glitsy, flashy sites online with a ' Great price of $500 for a dj and other related promises'. They ALWAYS demand ALL of their money upfront and once they have your money they will rarely talk to you again. The main players in this operation are a handful of characters who pull off this scam are : Ron Doyle, JD, Jeremy and Nate. I suspect these guys are pretty smart ( probably college guys) who figured out if they could just gain your trust and more importantly your money they had the perfect SCAM. they claim to do'thousands' of events yearly and of these thousands some go off without a hitch but even if the Bridal couple is happy, the poor dj/ Videographer is screwed. No pay ormaybe one payment and 5-10 unpaid !These guys are true' masters of scam' The most deceitful thing they STEAL is your TRUST. Since the wedding events I played for last month ( 11/09 )I see their new game plan is to not even accept phone calls. Isuspect that 'the thin ice of deception'is starting to break. At this point, I wouldstrongly recommend that ANYONE who has been mislead, mistreated and UNPAID for services rendered take this step of ACTION. Call Officer Jim Ryan in Kentucky;he is spearheading an investigation and will present ALL complaints/ grievances to state &federal official in January 2010 ! Call his office in Kentucky :859-331-5911 or his email address is : [email protected] talk to him regularly and his office is anxious to resolve this scam operation operating out of Kenton County, Kentucky ! Need more help ? Call me ! Bill Lemon 724.986.3152.Until I crossed paths with A Solid Gold Sound I thought the professioal thieves/ scammers were in Pakistan. It's hard to believe that we have 'Solid Gold Thieves' in Kentucky.I've spoken to dj's from all around the country who are fellow 'victims' of these guys. Make no mistake, Ron Doyle and hisgroup of felons are making 'lots and lots of money' I'm hoping to make these guys the cover story on ' American Greed' ( the TV show ). Maybe then , Brides / Vendors will finally know how malicious and greedy these guys are. Maybe they are planning to'skip town' and join Osama bin Laden in his hole somewhere in the middle of nowhere ! Call Officer Jim Ryan in Kentucky ...spread the word !!

I'm a former DJ that worked for them, I still haven't got paid for gigs on 08/08/08 and 09/24/08. Yes that's 2008. Of course they call every few months because they simply can't find another vendor in my city...mainly because they have stiffed most us and we all talk to each other and refuse to work for them. One company will do work for them, but only if he has a check in hand before the event.
In addition, I've received at least a dozen calls from DJs outside of my area that they owe up to $2000+. As I've done in my city, the best thing to do is warn others in your city about them. In the end, they will only get the crappy people that really shouldn't be working and you'll see more complaints from their customers like you do here.
