AAAA TV Vacuum Electronic Appliance AAAA TEVA stole my $100 to do a "free estimate" Centennial, Colorado
I called the store to see how much it would cost to fix my 32" dynex tv, which needed a new screen. They said that I needed to bring it to the store for an accurate estimate, understandably, and I decided to do this seeing on their website that they give "free estimates and consultations".
Showing them the tv upon arrival, I asked for an estimate. They said that their service guys weren't available and that I should leave the tv there and that he would call me. He asked for a $100 deposit that would go towards the fix. Expressing my discomfort with this, I told him that I needed an estimate before leaving the tv, he said it would be about $125 but couldn't say exactly. I told him that I felt uncomfortable with this, and against my better knowing I left it with them, and my boyfriend was going to call with his credit card to give the deposit.
After the deposit was paid, they called later in the day to quote a $350 fix, which I declined seeing that a new tv of the same model costs $229. I told him I would pick it up and requested my $100 back. He said that he would not give it back as it was a fee. I reminded him that his website said free estimates and asked him what he did to keep the tv. He admitted to only calling for a price, which is an estimate. An argument ensued, in which he hung up. I called back and he hung up again. I called back three more times and they did not answer. My boyfriend called back and asked about the situation and they declined speaking with him because " he was not the customer". He reminded them that he was the one who paid, but they hung up again.
This business is a scam. I think that they knew what they were doing from the beginning, and from the 35 reports on the Better Business Bureau website within the last few years, I believe they treat everybody this way.
