Aable Hitec Auto Electric Inc. "Almost ripped off. Please Be Aware" Virginia Beach Virginia
In June 2008 I noticed the sunroof on my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder was not working.
July 24, 2008 - I needed to get my tires rotated and balanced, so I took the Pathfinder to Pep Boys on Lynnhaven Pkwy. They weren't able to get my truck in until later that day, so I decided to go somewhere else. I ask if they worked on sunroofs and he said no, but gave me a business card of someone "he highly recommends."
This is where Aable Hitec Electric Inc. comes into the picture. After seeing the outside of this place, aganist my better judgement, I decided to go in anyway. "Never judge a book by it's cover, right?" I stood at the counter reading the bulletin board of various charges one could incur while having their vehicle repaired. Eventually I heard someone yell from the repair shop, "I'll be with you in a moment." No problem. I'll wait.
Within minutes a man came to assist me. After telling him my problem, he immediately stated, "It will cost between $800 to $1,000." I about fell over. I thought it was very peculiar that he could just pop off a charge of this amount even without looking at the sunroof. I told him - "No thanks. I guess I'll just do without a sunroof." He went on to say that THIS was what it would cost wherever I get it fixed. YEAH RIGHT! I walked out laughing. Notice the word "peculiar" has the word "liar" in it. Yep, I was right.
I went to Hall Nissan on Bonney Road, and got my tires rotated and balanced AND the sunroof repaired ALL for $106.29. A Nissan dealership - wonder WHY they didn't charge me the $800 - $1,000 that Mr. Aable Hitec quoted? Hummmmmmmm AMAZING.
I "should have" listened to my gut feeling when I seen Aable Hitec and continued driving. I'm thankful I didn't let them touch my Pathfinder. I didn't get ripped off, but feel that I would have had I let them work on my Pathfinder.
PLEASE be aware of this place....If they ever quote you a price for repairs, I highly recommend getting a second opinion. Best regards.
