Allen Belcher of Beaverton, Oregon hired me via his Craigslist ad, here (see end if link is dead):

...then a phone call, then an in-person meeting (where he bought me a bagel, how nice of him). I was to be a work-from-home telemarketer (the shame) so as to supply him with customers for his roof and gutter business, The Home Maintenance Team. I got a weird vibe about him and quit the job after working for about two hours. He reacted like an angry child and sent me an e-mail which read:

"what a c***, grow a D***"

Real nice. Glad I quit, turns out the dude has a history of hiring hard-up people like myself to do the same kind of work. That would be cool and all except, dang, he doesn't pay them. Somebody even took him to court over it and won. Look:

I was lucky enough to quit before it went far, but this guy takes advantage of people and there's not much about him online except for that court document and this page:

I didn't get his full name right away, just the name of the business, so my first attempt to Google him failed. Now his new business name is on the Internet in this here post. Used to be Gutters, Etc., now it's The Home Maintenance Team. Stay away, job seekers.
