AllInsuranceNeedz.Com is an insurance lead source company that differs a bit from your traditional lead source companies. They promise that if you purchase a zip code from them, you will be the only agent to receive leads for 12 months in that zip code. They like to press their special deal which is about a handful or two of zip codes for $3000.00 per year.
All in all this sounds like a great investment. I personally used to spend $400-700 per month on netquote.com leads alone when I was independent contracting (back when online lead sources was new to our industry).
In 2004, AllInsuranceNeedz.com called my office number and pitched me the idea of how I could better invest my money with their company (they spoke actively about why they were better than netquote). They had a compelling sales pitch.."our company is in the top 5 listings for auto insurance on google and you lock down your zip codes unlike other companies. We want you to succeed from this".
I did a web search on google while the sales guy was on the phone with me and they were not lying. They were the 2nd listing on google when I typed in Auto Insurance. Seeing this I instantly thought about all the money I would save switching my primary internet lead generation source from Netquote to their company. The sales guy was overly helpful when it came to making my decision. Sales charts, company statistics, testimonials, zip code statistics, household information.the works! It seemed like a no brainer.A insurance lead source company that seems to care about their clients (agents), helpful, informative and friendlyit seemed like everything netquote.com wasn't.
At the time (2004) I had already experienced 8 years of working internet leads and I knew where the "hot spots" were for residential style requests for insurance quotes. After investing the $3000.00 to obtain (& lock down) two major zip codes in Bellevue, the major one in Renton, a couple in the Spokane area, several big ones in Seattle and a few other scattered areas.I waited for the business to start rolling in. I figured having every life, commercial and prop/cas leads in these handful of zip codes would work out quite nicely.
2 weeks went by with only 3 leads sent to me for insurance quotes. 2 of the 3 leads were from other insurance agent's "testing the system" by requesting insurance quotes and using their office info to see how it works. Baffled by the lack of business I went to google and redid my search for "auto insurance". AllInsuranceNeedz.com was no longer anywhere near the top of the google search (they were buried at about listing number 12,800).
12 months went by since I signed up for their services and I received a total of 12 leads. 5 total were from other agent's "testing the system" and the rest of the leads do not amount to squat.
After my 12 months was up, they have the nerve to contact me and ask me if I wanted to renew my contract. I told them about my 12 months experience with their company and that I was not a happy camper. I said the only way I would renew is if they worked up a contract that if I was skunked again I would get a refund. They told me that was not possible and assured me that they had worked on some new marketing ideas to get their company "out there" and generate more leads for Washington.
In late 2006, AllInsuranceNeedz.com contacted my former employer at State Farm insurance and presented him with then same idea I was suckered into. He bought into the $3000.00 sales pitch and has not received more than 10 total leads. I believe his 12 month contract is up already. It appears that whatever they were working on at the end of my term was just a ploy to sucker me in for another 12 months because 2.5 years later, this all went down exactly the same way to my former employer.
(my theory)
I put two and two together and figured out that AllInsuranceNeedz.com actively silicates business from Insurance Agents while their company is listed at the top of the google search. Any company can give Google extra money to position their website near the top of the search engine. While their company is at the top, its prime time to get new agents on board and AllInsuranceNeez.com sales force goes into 5th gear suckering in new clients. After their time is up for paid-positioning in google.
Well, you get the picture.
I normally wouldn't make assumptions about a company and spread my theories about them out for the world to read. But this happened to myself as well as a close friend / former employer. The exact same thing from start to finish!
Unless you hate money, do not use AllInsuranceNeedz.com. If they contact your office I recommend you tell them " doesn't welcome your services in Washington".
I sent out this warning to my comrades at AmFam several months ago. My friend was recently contact by this company and he remembered my warning and notified me that they had contacted him. He had written them a nice little "no thank you email" and relayed to AllInsruanceNeedz.com the reason he will not use them (because of my experience).
I thought I would take the opportunity to toss this warning out to whoever is willing to listen. I care about our company and the agents representing it. We are all on a team with a common goal to make "this thing" work in Washington and earn some money from it. Please take my experience and make your own decision if this company ever contacts you.
Thank you for listening!
