Antonino Maucelli Affordable Repairs deadbeat contractor scams woman on longterm disability for thousands Wenonah New Jersey
We just got married and couldn't afford a bigger house so we decided to have an addition built on the back. We found a contractor that gave us a good price so we had a contract written up and gave him a down payment to get started.
Things weren't to bad in the beginning. As time went on he kept saying prices were up that he needed more money for plywood. But next week it was the same again. Then the exavation was suppose to be included but I had to give up more money for that. Also I made a agreement to trade my car for some work which wasn't done.
Well the price was suppose to be only 20,600 and finished by Oct.1 ready to move in, well its now the middle of Nov. still not finished but 29,000 dollars in the hole with no contractor.
He told us that his mother was in acoma over in Italy that he needed to go and he'd be back to finish when he comes back. He left his brother in law in charge of the money to pay a sub contractor to finish some things but not paying who wants to work.
Well he was suppose to be back on Halloween but we still haven't heard from him. The sub contractor went to see him and said he wasn't comming back to finish and we were going to get any money back. Then to find out that he was on vacation with our money.
I don't have the money to finish because I've been out of work due to a back injury. I haven't been able to work for over a year. The worst problem is that I haven't been paid for 9 months due to being turned down for SSI due to being young. I just don't want anyone else getting screwed by this contractor again.

Well here I am still with a incomplete house. I hope nobody took my advise and used this contractor. They say a person can always lie but eventually the truth will come out. Well in this case it did. I have found that this contractor has scamed my people as he did with me. His mother was not sick in fact she traveled and came to America with them for a few months until he through her out. The money was never given to the family member to hold to finish and pay for the job. I take it my money paid for there trip to Italy. The family member who he made the stories about was found and proven innocent of all charges, but as for the contractor he was proven guilty in court and by his own family. He has many company names he uses as well as his own name Anthony Maucelli that he goes by, he changes all the names like people changing their underware. He is collecting SSDI for a injury that happen, but if you had him on your property for a job you'll see he gets around very well crawling under the house and up & down ladders. Hes broke and wont complete our house but the other month bought a brand new truck as well as winning a law suit. If your looking to get work done, check him out and make sure this isnt your guy. _______________________________________________________________ If you want good work call "low cost maintenance" for all your repairs, they are reasonable, and good at their work. family horror made contractor clueless

Come to find out that the contractor was innocent this whole time. We finally got in touch with him and everything he said that he did was true. He thought that everything was finished with us. All the checks he wrote out were given and cash to a middle man which took it. Hes talking to a lawyer on this to get the money back to finish our addition. He said as he gets more business he'll start paying us back. He couldn't figure why the cops were asking questions because he trusted the guy to help him with the business while he was taking care of his mother. I want apoligize to Anthony and his family for everything. I highly recommend this company for any job needed to be done. Just make sure you only deal with him and not a middle man. Affordable Repairs is highly recommended for any repairs.
