After owning one of the best German Shepherds I’ve ever known, I thought it was a good idea to get a second one to keep her company.  After some research, I found that Thinschmidt were recommend by the dog whisperer and started chatting with them.  They said my dog would be coming from world class German breeders so I flew out to see what they had.  I was introduced to the perfect puppy, he was sweet, adventurous and not fearful in anyway.  They insisted they train him and I made one of the biggest mistake of my life and agreed, four months later I get a dog that is so scared that he peed every time someone went to pet him.  I contacted them right away and they almost never responded but when they did, they were no help at all.  The peeing only happened when men would try to pet him but not women so we assume a male beat him several and regularly to create that long lasting of an effect.

After 18 months of gaining his trust the peeing finally started to go away but would still happen for men he didn’t know.  That lasted another 2 years until finally that ended completely.  He was very aggressive and often scary, we spent endless hours working with him and the aggression was easier to control than the peeing.  Over the rest of his life we constantly had to worry about someone scaring him, we always had to keep an eye on who was coming in and out of the house and thankfully through hard work and patients we finally got him to calm down to some degree months before his passing.

That wasn’t the only issue however, from the first day we got him checked out by the vet we had one health issue after another.  He was the only dog I’ve ever had to suffer from so many allergies he would get infections in a matter of just a few days, he also had serious digestive issues that lead to extremely expensive food being the only option on top of hardcore steroids to keep is inflammatory bowel disease under control.

Just recently he passed away at only 7 years old, after a lifetime of fear, aggression and medical issues.  This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a German Shepherd and people need to be ware.  To this day, I have no clue if the dog I bought that day in Corona was the same dog I received several months later or if he was a completely different dog.  Either way the complete lack of ethics had to be a part of their business practices to allow a dog to be beat during training, let alone beat so severally that it would impact the rest of that dog’s life.
