Tonight I received a voicemail on my mobile phone asking me to return a call to Associated Credit Services. I did so and asked who they were representing. They claimed that I owed Wells-Fargo for a purchase made at Stein's Home and Garden. When I told them I do not have a Wells-Fargo account, they became rude, told me not to waste their time and hung up on me. Since I do not own a Wells-Fargo credit card, I called Wells-Fargo and spoke to collections. They searched me and my husband by name, phone number, and social security numbers and found nowhere that we owed Wells-Fargo anything. I tried calling Associated Credit Services back as suggested by Wells-Fargo but they had since closed for the day. I will attempt to contact them again tomorrow. Depending on the results of that conversation, I may contact the BBB, phone company, and whatever legal service required to report fraud.
