I originally wanted a tow to a nearby shop but the dispatcher Ty said they are affiliated with other repair shops and if brought there will waive the fee. Also he said the shop is a parts store as well and will make repairs quick and less expensive. This happened to be false as no fee was waived and they charged for the diagnostic and the battery at the shop whereas the place I wanted to go to would have applied the diagnostic fee towards the battery And the place is much closer.
It turn out both the towing and repair shop are owned by express automotive inc. and when trying to confront them on this they say that's not the case but when I look at my bill both the tow charge and shop charges are using the same account. Then the shop gives me a 35 dollar discount saying we're sorry for your confusion, but if different from the tow company how can the tow people convince the shop to give back money? So here a 35 dollar return on where battery plus tow costs over 360!
Compared to if brought to a shop nearby tow 65 and shop 130. In essence this company will claim to bring your car to the best shop but will bring it to their shop no matter where you are (can be expensive long mileage tows) claim to waive fees but don't, and claim to use a better priced and quicker shop that has available parts but don't (they bring you to their company shops only where the mechanic said we carry no parts here). If you decide to get a tow avoid their suggested shops and don't fall for their lines.
