My brother purchased an AT&T prepaid calling card while serving in Irac. His checking account was billed 146 times without his consent by AT&T and Vesta Corp. My brother didn't have access to his checking account and was not aware of this until months later. When adding up all the transactions the total is 10,252.95. My brother notified his bank they stopped his debit card and contacted AT&T who goes through Vesta Corp. The bank has recovered 1086.40 leaving 9166.25. Vesta Corp says they cannot go back more than 90 days on refunds. Even though while speaking to a Vesta Corp Rep today march 30 2006, and the Rep telling me it was a gliche in the system that overcharged my brothers account they still cannot refund his money. How in the world can this possibly be legal? How can a corporation do this to a soldier who has no access to his bank account, tell him ohwell it's over 90 days we can't help you.
