I have been busy at work and with a lot going on in my life. Every time I get the email bill from ATT, I pay it immediately as I know how aggressive ATT can be with fees. So I have been extremely diligent about paying on time.

Today, I received another bill in my email, so I went to pay it and I was surprised to hear that I have double the balance. So I figured, I must have forgot to pay last month. So I paid the total balance (I have a ATT directly widraw the money from my checking account). But something didn't feel right. I bank online so I had few moments to check my bank account for past transactions. And to my surprise, I realised that ATT was double billing me every month for as far as my checking account goes. I was furious, I try to get a costumer service but they don't work on weekend I was told by th automatic system.

How could this be? doesn't any one at ATT verify the billing abd refund the money to the consumers that were worngly over charged?

To me this is amount to theft! If the bank mistakenly put money into my checking account and I kept quite and used it all and closed my account. What do you think the bank would do? I am not a lawyer but I think I could go to jail for that. (but if I am wrong, I think it should be a law to that effect!).

Back to my story, I beleive that many other unsuspecting consumers are been taken advantage of and ATT should be stopped! There should be a law against this and ATT should pay penalties for taking advantage of their costumers. The fact that they will come after you if you have one signle penny missing from your payment, it tells me that they do review their billing. To ignor the "mistake"(assuming its not intentional, but I doubt it) amont to theft and should be punished.

So fat I estimat the overpayment to be in a $1000. I am waiting for monday to speak ATT and I do have all the payment history to back up my claims. I am sure they will challenge me initiallly but after I show them the proof, they will say (after all the aggrevation and waited time) we will credit your account with a tone of annoyance as they think Dam! this one caught us!
