I purchased a "Stage 3 Surge Performance Chip" from www.myhotmercedes.com. This item is supposed to give a small increase in car performance.

The chip was $300. After ordering, I was called on the phone and a smooth-talking person told me that it would be worthless without the $100 "Voltage Regulator" to go along with it. I ponied up the money and a few days later both items came.

I had a mechanic install the performance chip. More on that later.

The Voltage Regulator was opened up by the mechanic, and he saw that it was a cheap, $1 capacitor inside a shiny metal box. He said that the capacitor was much too small to do anything at all, anyway. So, it was a total con.

We installed the performance chip and tried it out. It didn't do anything. We fiddled with the settings, but still nothing.

Myhotmercedes.com insisted that it must have been damaged in shipping. They replaced it for me, but the replacement didn't do anything either. My mechanic inspected it very carefully, and realized that inside the chip was a very simple circuit and one LED light. He said he was certain that the chip was incapable of doing anything whatsoever; it just didn't have the components to actually increase the performance of a car. In other words, it is a scam and a RIPOFF.

I sent back both items, and I only got $300 refunded. They still refuse to respond to my emails asking for the $100 back for the voltage regulator.

Myhotmercedes.com is a complete scam, and they will take your money and send you things that do not work.

We do not manufacture or design any products listed on our store. Everything is purchased through our channels of distributors. Unfortunately, we can only do our best to act within our return policy. Gernerally if we see a vendor is not supplying quality product, we discontinue our relationship with them and stop carrying their merchandise. With regaurds to the $100 difference in your credit, unfortunately, the terms and conditions clearly state that if a part is opened or installed a restocking fee will apply and return shipping is not covered. This policy is in place to protect our every day low price guarantee and to make sure our return policy is not taken advantage of. It is our goal to make every customer happy. Please call customer service and ask to speak to Arash. He is one of our sales managers and I've asked him to provide you a full refund. I hope your next experience with us is much better!
