I saw an ad for automatedleverage.com in a magazine. I thought what the hell so I plunked down $250 via PayPal.

What the guy on the website claims is that he has come up with an computer system that analyzes foreign exchange market trends and automatically trades for you. He says if you aren't absolutely 100% satisfied then you'll get every penny of your money back.

He directs you to download a standard FOREX free program and then download his add-on program. He then has you email him and he'll send you a confirmation code to unlock the program.

I got the initial registration stuff, downloaded the free program, and then waited 4 or 5 days for him to get around to emailing me the unlock code.

The free FOREX program worked but I couldn't get his thing to work. After a few days of trying I just said forget this and emailed them to request my money back. Nothing. I waited a few more days and still nothing. I called the phone number on my paypal account and got an answering machine. After leaving several messages, still nothing. I emailed again, nothing.

I initiated a complaint with PayPal, and again, no reply. But then paypal came back saying that there wasn't anything they could do because they don't honor other people's guarantees.

So basically, this guy has found out that he can rip people off using paypal by selling a product that sounds like it could work (mine didn't) and then just sit back and ignore it when anyone attempts to get a refund.
