Axia College Online/ Western International University And Axia College Of University Of Phoenix Ripoff, dishonest staff, dishonest billing, terrible customer service, empty promises and worthless assurance. Phoenix Arizona
I originally wanted to attend University of Phoenix online to complete my education. However, I was contacted by an associate of Axia College of Western International University which was supposed to by a sister university for associate's degrees. Unfortunately, I decided to attend this school.
It was easy to get in and get started of course. Soon enough, I was informed I had taken 2 classes (assigned by my academic counselor) that did not correspond to my degree plan. First, I was told to pay for them, and then I was told I may be able to get a waiver, and then I was told it was waived and taken care of. Finally, 6 months later I was sent a letter telling me that I owed 1800.00 because of the courses I had taken that did not correspond to my degree plan, and was not covered by my financial aid. This was with Axia college of WIU.
Before I got this letter, I was advised to switch to Axia college of University of Phoenix because it was more flexible. Reluctantly, I did switch. As soon as I switched this letter was sent to me about the amount I owed for classes they assured me had been waived.
I was still dealing with the same people when I switched schools. I applied for financial aid again, but it had never gone through. They advised me to start my classes because my financial aid package was in the final stages...they said it everything would be fine. I am six week into my classes with no financial aid. They are presently sending me bills for another 1800.00 for these classes they promised I would have financial to cover.
Concerning this matter. The staff comes off dumb founded. They say they need to talk to supervisors, but never get back in touch with you. No one seems to have answers for why any of this has happened. Oh, they have told me that all online colleges have these problems.
At this point, the classes have not been waived. I do not have financial aid, and I am still in classes I can't pay for. My debt is rising and they "assure" me things will be fine. They have been doing that for 6 months.
I hope better luck comes to those who choose this college.
