If you prepay for a stay, check in, then decide to cancel without even looking at the room, there is no hotel/motel that I've ever heard of that will give you your money back. Some will refund if you had a legitimate complaint about the accomodations, but what you posted was nothing more than snide, teenage level remarks. I read your post twice and was not able to determine what it was about this establishment that was not up to your "expectations".
Your main beef is with whomever you spoke to at Hotels.com that told you that you stood a chance in h**l of getting a refund. All hotels/motels have cancellation policies and they are clearly posted on Hotels.com. Did you bother to read this establishment's cancellation policy? What you did would not qualify under any cancellation policy I have ever read.
