Today I received an email from benaughty.com that made it look as though I signed up for their match-maker site. I believe they got my photo from any number of other sites that I am on (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). They made it look like I had already started my profile and am an interested member of the 3 million singles users.
I do not want to have a membership with them and never did. I cannot 'unsubscribe' from their email blasts because I do not have a 'password' to do it. Their address is 23 Manor Place, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. EH3 7DX. they do not answer their phone (it is perpetually busy). They do not have a place on their site in order to simply unsubscribe - which I believe is against the spammer laws.
This is very dangerous marketing. Take for instance - what if I were married to an abuser who believed upon looking at my email that I signed up for this account to meet "other hot singles?" I could have easily been beaten to death because of what these con-artists have done.
I cannot get these people out of my email and out of my life. For all I know, since I clicked on the links to get to their site to unsubscribe, there could very well be a virus attached to their bogus 'welcome aboard, newbie' email.
Be aware that this is not in any way, shape or form a legitimate company. If anyone can help me 'unsubscribe' from their spam emails, please let me know.
