Wife purchased tutorial software (on 3/26/2008) based on store employee recommendation. The s/w cost approximately $35.00 with tax.

The tutorial s/w was for WINDOWS VISTA, not XP as they were told repeatedly at the store when asked what operating system they had.

Wife returned the s/w and store refused a cash refund. When they refused refund she called me. I told them that this time I was going to haul them into small claims court.

I spoke with a person (manager? that refused to identify himself) that argued incessantly with me and was rude enough to tell me that he didn't give a $hit what I do that's it's their policy to do no refunds on s/w. Perhaps, but here's the result of their ripping me off for my $35. Hope it's worth the trouble!

Buyer beware with these people.

As an aside, we had problem with this store prior; I purchased a camera lens UV filter only to find the package empty. They refused a refund even after going to the aisle containing the product and observing themselves that ALL of the packages were empty of any lense.

This is a common practice.

Most stores will not refund opened software. This is due to the fact that you could easily have installed it, than return the CD - meaning you'll get it for free. If it works in Vista, than it will work in XP too anyway. because of this don't expect a refund. And small claims court over $35? Is it really worth it, especially since you'll probably loose anyway.
