Basically, this company is a bunch of little offices with different names (others include GQ Imports, Marketing Sessions, CYDCOR aka Cydor, DS-Max, and many others that would take too long to name...hint: look on Monster.com/Career Builder/HotJobs and look for names you haven't heard before, and it's them) that try to convince you that working for them will earn you the big bucks. What you will really do is go selling door to door. What a freakin scam job.
I'm so glad I had my second round interview, or as they call it, "The Day of 'O'" or Day of Observation, on what I was told was an "off day". We literally sold promotional packages in a parking lot. To be honest, I thought this had to be a joke the whole day, but the guy I was supposed to follow was totally all about selling crap in a parking lot. Some people actually bought the stuff. Shocking. I think he was still sort of in the dark that this is a retarded way to make a living.
And to say the least, my feet freakin hurt.
Anyway, afterwards, when we returned back to the office, which I might add was not even labeled with their company name (strange, huh? what are they hiding?) I was offered a position. Thankfully, I couldn't start for a few weeks, so I wasn't forced (or felt forced or whatever) to sign anything. The next day, after finding out on my Day of O that their "parent company" was Smart Circle, I did some research on the job, and it led me HERE, to what I really think is the best site ever and saved my life/career.
So, basically, I'm gonna cut to the point. If you do ANY job search, if you haven't heard of the company, SERIOUSLY, DON'T APPLY. Chances are, it is looped in with this scam. Of course, you need to be wary of any employer, as they can try to gyp you out of money at some point, but if you have NEVER EVER heard of the company, trust me, it's probably intertwined somewhere in this scam.
And also, if it's on one of the BIG job search engines multiple times, and is "a small company that's doing sports/entertainment marketing", DON'T DO IT. Do you REALLY wanna sell crap in a parking lot??? Didn't think so.
Hope this helps someone, as I almost got dragged into this sillyness, and wish that this information, specifically on Boomerang Marketing Group, was available before my first interview. Change that, before I even applied.
