Several states and counties only charge Sales Tax on items that are actually eaten in the resturant. So if you tell them it is To-Go they will not charge the sales tax. What the OP did was basically lie by their own admission. Because they did not have enough money and said that their order was To-Go. They then decided to eat in the resturant, hence they were confronted about it. I am not talking about how they were treated, just to clarify the issue on the sales tax.

How exactly do you 'not pay tax' on a soda at a fast food joint? it is automatically added in.

I've got some news for you. 6ft tall and 330 lbs isn't "slightly" anything, much less slightly "chubby". Slightly chubby would describe someone with 10 or 15 extra pounds on them. Your boyfriend would be considered MORBIDLY obese at around 100+ lbs overweight.

We used to have a Burger King here, and the service was horrible and the place was always filthy. People were lucky to even get what they ordered, as they were constantly giving people the wrong food. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your viewpoint, they got shut down, not because of the bad service and dirty place, but because it was discovered they were selling drugs in the drive thru window. I'm sorry for your bad experience, and I honestly hope they shape up or get shut down.
