BE AWARE THIS COMPANY IS DEFINITELY A SCAM!
Evidence:
I was contacted in February 2010 on phone by somebody from this company regarding resale of my timeshare property in China (they appeared to have my property information, which makes me somehow convinced they're a legitimate real estate company, of course stupidity on my side).  I told her I did not have the budget to pay the "marketing fees in front" but at last I was won over to sign in a marketing contract and paid $450 fee.  The sales person made me believe the money can be either refunded or the marketing period be extended for another 6 months if they can't sell the property in 6 months.  I didn't read the contract carefully and realized later it's impossible to get money back because they did list your property on their website and "fulfilled" their contractual obligation.  OK, I admit my negligence paid if I want to blame somebody.  One thing I noticed is that if you call the person who "handled" you either via listed company phone or the contact the sales left you never get answer or response for your messages.  Finally someday (many weeks later) a guy identified himself Adam something (phone # 386-868-9180) with this company called me and told me that there is a very promising buyer is interested in my property and already in financing process.  However, the lending bank requires CMA (Comparative Market Analysis) report and I need to pay $495 for it.  He claimed his company doesn't make a dime on this and all the money goes to 3rd party doing CMA.  I would admit this is a quite psychologically advanced scam.  When you're at this point you tend to believe whatever you're told.  So I paid $495 and prayed my property would be sold in the matter of weeks as they "promised".  Since the money paid the guy disappeared and all the phone calls went to a black hole as if you're calling a dead.  Then the thing made another turn and now I want to kick myself having not recognized this trap and keep falling into them.  About 3 - 4 weeks ago a guy id himself as Chris Agos with this company called me and apologized repeatedly about no responses for the past by telling me lots of things are going on in the office, however, the $495 I paid for CMA is not enough because my property is overseas and they need to hire a appraiser in China to do the job while the buyer of my property is waiting for this last step to get finance from the bank.  I think people start to lose their mind deep in this stage, at least me, I paid another $399 as requested and this Chris said the transaction should be completed in 2 - 3 weeks, that was 7/28/2010.  I can NEVER reach anybody with BuyOwner Resort Marketing, Inc. since then.  I searched website, and found another 2 Ripoff reports on this company, not surprising, almost identical stories.  This is a $1,344 and half a year time learned lesson and hope you are not the next prey.  Any idea what we victims can do about this, at least help others not fall into the same trap?
