Buyfixit.com, Simoniz And Syndet Products Inc Website charges credit cards without telling consumer they are going to Bolton Connecticut
Simoniz USA (parent company Syndet Products Inc.) has a website at www.buyfixit.com that sells Simoniz products. The main site feature is an order form, above which it says "Just fill in your information below to start your order." What the website does not state is that part of this info to "start your order" is your credit card, and when you fill this in and click through to the next page, you have already placed your order.
This is a completely deceptive (and probably illegal) billing practice by Simoniz (parent company Syndet Products Inc ) that I have not seen the likes of anywhere else on the net.
I surfed this Simoniz site in August 07, and TWO Months later with no warning or email I caught this Simoniz company trying to take money out of my account. I called them and was told they "could not stop the order because it was already boxed up." I never received any invoice or email or anything from the Simoniz or buyfixit.com company telling me they were going ahead and placing an order for me.
It was so obvious that Simoniz trained their employees answering the phones to say this! If it was boxed up and ready to go, why not just not send it out if they still have the product and the customer calls and says they don't want it? I found other similar complaints against Simoniz and Buy Fix It (www.buyfixit.com) elsewhere on the net, so this is apparently a regular business practice on the part of buyfixit.com, Simoniz and parent company Syndet Products Inc. When I tried to get any additional info on the website, I found they do not give a physical address, all that is available is a mail drop address (and below that is the order form-which is on every single page of the website!) Or a company phone number-all that can be accessed is a phone bank of Simoniz order-takers.
Next up: the state attorney general for buyfixit.com in Wisconsin and the state attorney general for SimonizUSA and Syndet Products Inc in Connecticut. Simoniz needs to be held accountable for their morally reprehensible and deceptive practice of unauthorized credit card captures. I am going to get my bank to go after them, and report them to whatever agencies I can find that oversee this kind of stuff as well. If anyone wants to start a class action lawsuit or knows of one currently moving forward, please let me know. I have the time and resources to contribute to this, and am very interested in seeing Simoniz, buyfixit.com and parent company Syndet Products Inc. held accountable for their abhorrent business practices.
